Put the Pedal Through the Metal: Demolition King Wreckfest 2 Goes Early Access in March

Wreckfest 2, the next evolution of full-contact racing, crashes into Early Access on PC on March 20, 2025. Developer Bugbear has overhauled its physics engine to deliver the most intense crashes, deeper component damage, and absolute vehicular mayhem.

Race on high-speed circuits - or tear through a junkyard filled with, well, junk! Take on wild jumps, try to dodge oncoming traffic at chaotic intersections. Good luck with that! Or embrace total destruction in derby mode, where chaos reigns, and every collision fuels the madness. It’s not just a race - it’s carnage on wheels. With no rules and no mercy, every race becomes a battle to the finish line against up to 23 other players or AI drivers in all-out multiplayer mayhem!

Forget the shiny supercars - In Wreckfest 2, the rides are old, rusty, dented, and patched together. As Early Access progresses, you'll be able to build the banger of your dreams and transform your battered ride into a wrecking machine! New cars and other vehicles will be added as the game evolves.

From day one, Wreckfest 2 will be shaped by your feedback. We're eager to create the greatest demolition derby-style game of all time. Ready to take the wheel?

Join us on March 20th, when Wreckfest 2 launches into Early Access on Steam!

Weeckfest 1 was early access (and Kickstarter) before I believe there was even a name for it. This is how this game gets made and sold.

Big difference is they were making it by themselves as an indie. Wreckfest 2 is being funded by a major AAA publisher.

I never played the previous game but watched tons of footage, and it always looked like such a blast. I'll likely jump into this.

Came across the original on ps plus and loved it so definatly gonna look into this, Now just a Motorstorm comeback and I'll be happy

I really loved the first game, but both trailers I saw from the second one looked like there is nothing new in it. I hope for some more details in the future, what they want to improve/add compared to part 1.

Wreckfest was awesome, but I hope this time around there will be actual animated hands when driving in cockpit view. That annoyed me about the first game.

No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
This looks great, but I reaaalllly would love a new classic Burnout, in the vein of Burnout 3.

Another racing game launching in early access rather than having a standard release. With the first one it's understandable, but now they have a big publisher backing them and an established fanbase... I'll wait.

While not as good as Flat Out, the first wreckfest was the best game at the time to scratch that destruction derby itch.
Waiting for this one !

Wreckfest was fine but it lacks the character of Flatout, it's all a bit dry and lifeless in comparison, no fun sidemodes, drab tracks, poor soundtrack, it's just not super exciting compared to classic Flatout 2.

It's jank but with a few upgrades the handling is very fun. I personally enjoyed it quite a bit and love the genre.

Seems crazy to me that Trail Out came out with no fanfare or audience backing. It's a janky clone, but it's a clone of something that's not on the market these days. The crummy 3rd one and okayish 4th one notice while this still is unknown even after it eventually came to consoles. (And mobile, but I don't know if that's the same game or a mobile spinoff?)

Get Trailout and something else for only $6.50 a piece. Good deal.
