He was easily the funniest, most compelling anchor on Sportcenter, and was a great comedic foil to Dan Patrick's straight man. He used to be a 3+ times a week anchor, now you see him 4 times a year doing a random sketch segment like Carrot Top on Leno or something.

Did he just get tired of anchoring or was he ousted or..? It was almost easier when Rich Eisen left because you knew he was gone for good. Kenny still shows up now and then to remind you how hysterically daffy he is, only to again disappear into obscurity for 3 more months.

Mayne does a comedic segment once or twice a month, he's funny at least 75% of the time.
The funniest shit ever was when Sporscenter did it's live episode, and Mayne was running with the script towards the studio and he fell over. I can't remember if it looked real or not, but it was hilarious.
