Brant was actually really fun in his demo. A bit warp-around happy, but it still felt good to play. Dropping anchor after you build up his forte gauge is pretty satisfying.

If we didn't have clairvoyance so that I knew who was coming up next, they might have been able to get me to pull. Too bad I need to build up some savings for the next few characters, mainly Cantarella and Zani.

I might have tried Brant S1.

I might have ended up getting Lingyang.

Frustrated Jason Segel GIF by NETFLIX

On the bright side he is new. And my next character is guaranteed...if I don't decide to continue chasing Brant's Sequences that is :pie_roffles:

Fully build and dropping 228K anchors on enemies like a true pirate.

Congratulations again, I'm glad you like the character, keep it up!

As usual, a little joke - Listen, if someone from Kuro is standing behind you and holding a gun to your head, forcing you to spin the Brant banner, you blink or give some kind of sign, we'll think of something. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I know I'm gonna sound extremely biased, but after playing with him for a bit on a Changli, Brant, Verina team, I think he is a pretty good all-rounder, with easy to use quick swamps and pretty good damage overall. It's fairly easy to constantly have his shield and heal working if you know what you're doing.

He performs so well that I honestly think I'm just gonna save the next guaranteed pull for a new character, since I honestly feel I don't need his S1 or S2 anymore. Got his weapon, got a fairly good build on him, so the logic step is not to get greedy and get the next desired character.

I pretty much have all 90 level bosses to clear since I never raised my world tier. Did that yesterday, fully levelling up both Brant and Changli. Decided to tackle a few bosses, and those two together feel like a breeze clearing any challenges.

Also took a dive into the Tactical Simulacra event (which I struggled with level 80 characters) and Changli, Brant, Verina team worked really well across all stages.

Next step is to try out a Changli, Brant, Sanhua team.

But yeah, I do recognize Brant is not a friendly character to build. You need to farm quite a ton to build him, in order for him to feel balanced. That and pretty much needing to get his BiS too.

There is a problem in the game now, if you look at the picture above, you can say that the worst situation is now for two elements, Fusion and Aero. Havoc has recently become relatively good, Spectro is the strongest element, Ice got Carlotta to pair with Zhezhi and now everything is great there. With air, everything is really bad, it is practically not in the game, Jiyan actually carries the entire element on himself, but since he is a purely AoE character, he suffers in some game modes, although in the new WW he is simply a god. Fusion has an interesting story, it was originally planned that Changli would become a DPS, but they screwed up her kit and as a result she went to the second position, which should not have happened, because of which the entire element is now in an extremely interesting position, since both Brant and Changli are actually competing with each other for the second position (which should not have happened in principle), and the fact that they added WW where Changli can at least somehow act as the main DPS (Although she is even used there as a 2 either in a pair with Yao or in a pair with Jinhsi), but in this mode Brant suffers since he is actually a single target and in WW we playing actually through 2 AoE DPS on the first and second lot through Quick Swap. And as a result, Fusion still has only one DPS, Encore, and this is categorically not enough since she does not help in the situation with Brant and Changli -because she works great with Sanhua. I still don’t quite understand how they are going to resolve this whole situation, but Fusion really needs some new DPS with new mechanics that could sort this whole situation out.

Yap, Changli and Brant go toe to toe in terms of damage. I feel like Brant melts the bosses faster though, but probably because I fine tuned him better than Changli.

Thing about Brant is that you can easily miss his biggest hit if the enemy decides to dodge. Changli covers more ground on that regard.

As for the fusion solution, well, there's some rumors that a new fusion dps is coming.

Anni is basically 3 months away. My fusion solution would be Scar, around that time, but considering what has been leaking character wise, I'm starting to think we won't see him any time soon.

Brant - more sing target oriented, Changli - more AOE.
All measurements on prydwen, although I don't like these measurements in vacuum on one standing target that doesn't move... Because, to put it mildly, they don't relate to reality in any way.
Changli is potentially the strongest Fusion DPS in the game right now, the problem she incredibly difficult. And she can only give out such DPS if she has an ideal rotation and learned advanced mechanics, which 99% of people won't do in principle. If you just press buttons on her, her damage is quite low. In this regard, Brant and Encore are much simpler and it is much easier to reach their DPS peak.
U8ZE0U2.jpeg
I'm just afraid that in terms of the Fusion problem, damage has nothing to do with it, honestly it doesn't matter who has hight damage now, the problem is how they use characters. If, roughly speaking, they release a new DPS and if in the second slot can again be put Sanhua, Mortefi, Yangyang, etc. Then this will not help solve the problem. Now in the game there is too much competition in the second slot and too many characters who sit in the second slot. The only way it seems to me that they can resolve this is to make DPS who will want to see certain characters in the second slot, since players must have some motivation to create a group with these characters. Or you need to release DPS like Jinhsi, who can use almost all characters in the second slot, but honestly this is bad for the meta and for the players, since it shifts all attention to one character. I think, the current Fusion character should either be sharpened for Brant or for Changli and use their rotations, mechanics. If they release DPS again and everything ends with the fact that it will be possible to throw in Sanhua in secon slot and not suffer (as an example), nothing will be solved, unfortunately...

P.S. - I think the next Fusion character will again be 95% female, as for Scar, I won't even be surprised if they show his skeleton in some basement and that he's been dead for a long time, simply because he's a male character. (joke) :messenger_tears_of_joy:

That's CN only. I read somewhere that Brant / Changli banners are doing better in JP for example.

Still, to be honest, considering how long they take to release male characters, it's no surprise those banners flop sales wise. The players that want male characters have a way bigger time to save compared to the ones that chase every single female unit basically.

It's one of those cases where we can see the case either half full or half empty, I guess.

Phoebe did well in CN considering she was all by herself while all the others were double banners (I think she performed even better in JP).

I kind of wish I had pulled for her, but I really have bad RNG in these gachas, so I couldn't take the chance and miss out on one of Changli, Cantarella, or Shorekeeper. :lollipop_pensive: I will snag her on her rerun though because I like her.

His first 2 sequences are actually really good. One of them is 30% CR buff. You should applaud my decision M Mayar :pie_roffles:

One question: when you trigger a CR buff thanks to a new sequence, shouldn't that buff be added and shown in your character's resonator menu? Like Genshin does, for example.

In Brant's case, when you cast mid air attacks or use the Unga Bunga anchor, his CR should increase 30%. I go to the resonator menu after doing that but I'm not seeing the additional 30% CR.

I think it's unlikely that anyone here will be able to answer your question. I can say with almost 95% certainty that everyone skipped him. Therefore, in theory, it is possible that it is shown somewhere, perhaps not as an icon or a buff, but as some kind of effect on the character, but it's hard to say.

P.S: A shocking discovery - if you make a character S2, he becomes better, why stop at S2, forward to S6, he will become even better :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Its a conditional/in battle buff, those arent shown in the menu, makes calculating a bit more complicated. Should show an icon above forte or whats it called gauge when active.

My brain stopped and I went for Brant S2.

Got it, but lost one 50/50, so I'm out of resources for Zani now.

At least now you don't have to worry about crit rate lol, welcome to the club! I snatched his S2 as well.

That motherfucker is straight up busted at S2, I use him as DPS just fine at this point.

It works as intended, the buff only works for the enhanced resonance skill and basics in mid-air, nothing else, so it won't show up in the menu, as that would mean it's a blanket crit buff. You can easily test it with 0% crit rate by removing everything, and you'll see the crits while you're darting in mid-air.

Man, I'm a dummy. I was pissed about Hecate last week in the Thousand Gateways mode, because I beat her but only got 4000 points in the "score" because I went past the timer. It turns out the score is 4000 for a full clear no matter what (as long as you beat it), and to get the full 6000 in a single run, you need to use one of the "featured" resonators in your team.

I cleared the dragon in like 25 seconds this week and expected to be greeted with a shiny 6000 points but again got 4000. This made me go back into the entrance and read that you need to use Camellya/Danjin/Roccia/Baizhi to get the 150% bonus points this week.

Now it makes a little more sense, and I'm a lot less mad about it. I do wonder why they even added the timer at all though, since beating it quickly or just barely surviving and beating it after 10 mins gives the same results. I guess they expected players to not be able to handle the 'rage mode' damage spike.

But now I still have to do another "cleanup" round to get the rest of the weekly rewards. Ah well, hopefully it's the last time I have to do 2x runs in a week.

I suppose I'm not gonna live down the Gacha game players + not reading allegations.

Official PR post about the review score they've received from Famitsu:

Damn, Famitsu actually sent them the gold medal irl:

I received a Hall of Fame medal from the Weekly Famitsu editorial department! ✨🏅

This is all thanks to all the wanderers who always support me! (;ω; ) ✨

The entire development team is thrilled and will continue to bring you even more fun content!

It's Famitsu so Kuro probably paid good money for it.
I don't think so, this is not the first time they send out medals. They actually have a lot of different awards, including awards from readers. It's a common thing for them, they have a really rare and most prestigious award, which is what people call 40 out of 40 - perfect score. It's unrealistic to get it. Famitsu has existed since 1986 and to this day only 29 games, if I remember correctly, have received such a rating. The Famitsu rating is designed so that the game is given not to one journalist but to 4, each of them can give a rating from 0 to 10 = 40 in total. To get 40 points, your game needs to be liked by 4 different people at once.

Is it worth levelling up Sanhua past level 80 if you only use her as a quickswap support?
I'll answer this with a question - Is it worth S2 Brant, if you only use him as a quickswap support? :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Short version no, it is not necessary to lvlup more than 80, but this decision lowers your image in the eyes of other players :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Man, Changli still has one of the best character designs I've seen in a gacha or even in non-gacha games, and I'm super glad I finally snagged her (she was one of the main reasons I wanted to start playing Narushio). Her whole kit is so fun, and she'll be a permanent mainstay in my main team that I play with in the open world and in most of the events.

And speaking of her, here are two new gifs I've made with Changli:

Totally agree. They may have peaked early with her design. I'm not sure what else they could do to beat her out, for me at least. I'm tempted to go for more Sequences but with Cantarella and Zani coming up, I'd best just chill.

It was just a joke about Famitsu selling their perfect scores (usually to S-E and Nintendo).

Same. I've been going back and forth on this yesterday and today because I'd like to at least S3 her, but like you I have to resist temptation because of the new characters from patch 2.4, plus I want Shorekeeper and her weapon too when her banner will be rerun.

I might have to break my 'F2P' eventually though, and buy some of those lunite packs that give double currency for your first purchase (maybe they'll have some great deals during their anniversary).
