The rumor that three versions of Hulk Hogan would be in the game, for instance, is entirely true -- though they aren't outfit variations of one character, but three completely separate characters with their own move sets, abilities, and intros.

Hollywood Hogan? Damn,THQ has been reading my mind.

WTF? That's a TERRIBLE screenshot. LOL Looks like WWE Attitude from Acklame back in the day.

Uh, you do know that screenshots rarely capture how good a game acutally looks, right? Yes, its a bad screenshot, but this game has incredible graphics.

3 spots wasted on Hogan? Jimmy Hart? What a crock of shit.

Where's Macho Man, Rick Rude, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat(who by the way works for WWE just like Dibiase), and Mr. Perfect?

I'm not too keen on the legends list.

Would have been nice to have some fresh names like a Rick Rude or Mr. Perfect.

3 spots wasted on Hogan? That's almost as bad as "Masked Kane" and Legend Untertaker" taking up spots.

Yukes and THQ should just bite the bullet and make a WWE Hall of Fame/Legends game. It would SELL!

EDIT: Another thing that bugs me.... The ECW: One Night Stand Arena is in, yet 90% of the guys WHO WERE ACTUALLY IN THE DAMN THING are no where to be seen. WTF? Why have it in there if NONE of the guys are in it?

Seriously, making a Legends game at this point should be a reality. Even if they go back and retread the Legends of Wrestling material and do it it would work. Nostalgia is big right now.

No joke, I bought Showdown knowing full well it sucked just because I wanted that line up of wrestlers. If someone came out with a playable game with the WWE's support (read: actual charachters instead of wrestlers missing their gimmicks and music) it would be FUCKING great.

Also, Retro means pre-1990. I dont want the Stone Cold in a fucking retro game.

It all doesnt matter, once the game starts to move, it just doesnt seem worth it.

....

I own (yes legally) KoC Green, KoC 2, Fire Pro Z, Fire Pro R, Virtua Pro Wrestling 2

and HAVE OWNED (yes legally)

fire pro 6 man S, Giant Gram 2000, Fire Pro G, Fire Pro D

in terms of imports

and playing ALL of those ...well in reality if you played 1 fire pro you played em all, but ANYWAYS

Aside from the lame "Match Start" Choices (stare down, etc) the more recent smackdown games are pretty damn good wrestling games (HCTP being the pinnacle imo) imports or not...

why?

+'s
Animation is good
Control is fluid, easy ( *smack* KoC)
Limb Damage
Locational Damage Selling
ACTUAL SELLING!!! (Play SD1 - just bring it)
Actual Submisson Holds (Play SD1 - Shut your Mouth)
Large Moveset (nowhere near Fire Pro R's tho)
Real Grappling (some dont like it, I liked the no mercy style Grapple -> move so its a + to me)

-'s
"Story Mode" (id rather more generic, but neverending Seasons)
Lack of Title Matches in exhibition
Mini Game Meters (i dont mind them for submissions, its better than just button mashing, but the in-corner chops, match start-maddenesque qtes suck, and throw off the match flow)
Poor rosters (Id honestly rather play a 90s era WWE legends game with 80s stars as "LEGENDS" than the current wwe rosters)
Quirky "A.I." (I hate the counter everything everything everything A.I., needs balance)

point being did I used to loathe the SD series?

of course! I hated that it played arcade style and the there was no selling, blood, grappling, submissions, limb damage like I had in no mercy..

then there was.

I like that legend list except for the fact that there's three Hogans and Jimmy Hart. And playing in the old school blue cage = :)

This is by far one of my most anticipated titles this year and will keep me busy for months. I held out of buying the last title, so it has been 2 years since I got into a wrestling game. The Legends look really good this year, as do all the unlockables and modes they are talking about.

Seriously. Jake the Snake rules, no doubt, but where's my Demolition?
