It all doesnt matter, once the game starts to move, it just doesnt seem worth it.
....
I own (yes legally) KoC Green, KoC 2, Fire Pro Z, Fire Pro R, Virtua Pro Wrestling 2
and HAVE OWNED (yes legally)
fire pro 6 man S, Giant Gram 2000, Fire Pro G, Fire Pro D
in terms of imports
and playing ALL of those ...well in reality if you played 1 fire pro you played em all, but ANYWAYS
Aside from the lame "Match Start" Choices (stare down, etc) the more recent smackdown games are pretty damn good wrestling games (HCTP being the pinnacle imo) imports or not...
why?
+'s
Animation is good
Control is fluid, easy ( *smack* KoC)
Limb Damage
Locational Damage Selling
ACTUAL SELLING!!! (Play SD1 - just bring it)
Actual Submisson Holds (Play SD1 - Shut your Mouth)
Large Moveset (nowhere near Fire Pro R's tho)
Real Grappling (some dont like it, I liked the no mercy style Grapple -> move so its a + to me)
-'s
"Story Mode" (id rather more generic, but neverending Seasons)
Lack of Title Matches in exhibition
Mini Game Meters (i dont mind them for submissions, its better than just button mashing, but the in-corner chops, match start-maddenesque qtes suck, and throw off the match flow)
Poor rosters (Id honestly rather play a 90s era WWE legends game with 80s stars as "LEGENDS" than the current wwe rosters)
Quirky "A.I." (I hate the counter everything everything everything A.I., needs balance)
point being did I used to loathe the SD series?
of course! I hated that it played arcade style and the there was no selling, blood, grappling, submissions, limb damage like I had in no mercy..
then there was.
