What the hell is that... go to www.ign.com and on the right half-way down the Latest News section has the following:

04/08 10:04 X-Box 2: Microsoft Reveals X-Box 360

What is it? The URL is broken

Do you think it is a goof-up on IGN or do you think they have something?

It says X-Box 2, not X-Box like the other news link.

STOP POSTING AND GO TAKE VID OF YOUR TEENAGE SISTER.

CHOP CHOP.

They also have a site for PS3 that stuff is posted into, but the site itself is not up. But whatever this subject is, would be under xbox.ign.com when its up also.

They've tested updates or fixes to their news DB before with some not-so-clever headlines, so maybe it's just someone having fun with all the hype and hoopla, expecting no one to really see it since it wouldn't be up long.

Or maybe they really have goofed and posted something early. *shrug* Perhaps a scheduled posting that triggered early by mistake?

Microsoft Reveals Xbox 360 Partners
Check out the next-generation's all-star lineup.
by David Adams

April 8, 2005 - The next generation takes even more shape: Microsoft today announced the publishers and developers now signed up to support the next Xbox system.

One thing's for sure: this is no paltry list. Among the publishers are all the biggest players, as well as a number of smaller houses which have already committed to the next generation, and are showing plenty of promise. Here are the publishers:

* 2K Games
* Activision
* Atari
* Bandai
* Bethesda Softworks
* Buena Vista Games
* Capcom
* Codemasters
* Eidos
* Electronic Arts
* FromSoftware
* InterServ International
* KOEI
* Konami

* LucasArts
* Majesco
* Midway Games
* Namco
* Phantagram
* Rockstar Games
* SCi Games
* SEGA
* Tecmo
* THQ
* TWP
* Ubisoft
* Vivendi Universal Games
* Webzen

In addition, Microsoft has a strong lineup of developers set to create exclusive titles for the new Xbox system. The list includes a power trio of Japanese star talent:

* BioWare
* Bizarre Creations
* Bungie Studios
* Epic Games
* FASA Studio
* Lionhead Studios
* Rare
* Yoshiki Okamoto's Game Republic
* Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker
* Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment

Of course, few of the companies on this list are a surprise, but you can bet this hardly exhausts the development power Microsoft is recruiting for its new platform, which represents what it calls "the HD Era."

"The key to bringing the vision for the HD Era of gaming to life is our partners: world-class publishers and developers that have molded and shaped the history of interactive entertainment for tens of millions of gamers worldwide," said Peter Moore at Microsoft. "This stellar lineup of publishers and developers is poised to deliver games experiences our customers only dreamed were possible, and is ultimately committed to elevating video games to be the No. 1 form of entertainment."

We'll be back with every new detail on the next Xbox generation as soon as news comes in.

It's just the developer list.....

Isnt Temco making exclusive games for Xbox2? theyve not been mentioned in the exclusive list and is the final name for Xbox 2 going to be Xbox 360?

The Half-Life 2 link is also broken...

This is just how IGN works. They'll post the same information and classify it to separate categories. Like this:

Quantic Dream Reveals Next-Gen Titles PS3
Quantic Dream Reveals Next-Gen Titles PC
Quantic Dream Reveals Next-Gen Titles XBOX2
Quantic Dream Reveals Next-Gen Titles PS2
Quantic Dream Reveals Next-Gen Titles Xbox

Different links, same story. I'm guessing they don't have the virtual domains (console.ign.com) set up yet for PS3 and Xbox2 due to the design/editorial content not being ready.

They do this for multiplatform info. I suppose they are classifying the Xbox 360 Partners story against Xbox and Xbox 360. The Xbox2 version just got truncated because the word "Partners" exceeded the alotted character limit.

Nothing to see here.

Why do some people still call it "X-box" ? It`s wrong and even takes longer to spell.

I will never type it X-box or Xbox or XBox... I always use X-Box... I have been doing it for a very long time, I also like the way it looks... just me I guess!
