The life-sized X-wing in this auction is one of only 8 left in the entire world. To our knowledge, it is one of only two that have ever been released into public hands.

Back in 1995, 20th Century Fox Germany and Lucasfilm contracted 9 of these to be made by a company called Pana Sensor in Frankfurt. They were to be part of a worldwide promotional tour highlighting the THX release of the original Star Wars Trilogy on home video. Because of a truck wreck several years ago, only 8 of these ships still exist.

There is currently one on display at Celebration 3 in Indianapolis, Indiana . There is also one in storage at the 20th Century Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia. In 1996, Neiman Marcus auctioned one of them off in their world famous Christmas Catalog. The final bid came in at $135,000.00.

You can read all about it at http://www.starbright.org/press/xwing.html

Aside from the three mentioned above, and the one we have available, we have not been able to locate the other 4 X-Wings still in existence. If anyone has information on their location, we would love to hear from you. You can email us at xrebb@yahoo.com.

These incredible life-sized replicas were constructed from fiberglass, wood, and plastic, all placed over a steel frame. When fully assembled the X-Wing measures 28 feet long, 20 feet wide, and about 10 and a half feet tall. Total weight is approximately 2000 lbs.

This particular X-wing has spent the last several years hanging from the ceiling of the FAO Schwartz toy store in Orlando, Florida. It is in very good shape, and would be the ultimate centerpiece to any Star Wars collection. It is now located in Dayton, Ohio and can be seen by appointment only.

This is an extremely rare piece. We have set a extreamly low opening bid and a fair Buy-It-Now price. If someone purchases it using Buy-It-Now, we will provide domestic U.S. shipping directly to the location of your choice for no additional charge. This is a savings of several thousand dollars.

We will accept International bids as well, but you will have to pay extra for shipping. However, we will work with you on this end to make sure it is a very smooth process and transaction. Thanks, and Good Luck.

This link explains itself, but I had no idea these were made. Honestly, I think they are a bit small in comparison to the shots in Empire, but who cares, its HUGE.

EDIT: "damn pxl, two star wars threads in one day. you must be obsessed." "coincidence, now move along."

Oh, so that's where the Sydney one is...
I had wondered where it went, it used to be in the Sega World lobby.

that's a damn good deal - you get an interstellar spacecraft with hyperspace capability, and it's got lasers too! too bad it only seats one....

Even though I'm a Star Wars fan, if I had $1 million to spend, I doubt I would even spend $10,000 on that. It looks awfully old, dirty, cheap and poorly-maintained.
