Received anonymous word earlier today that the Australian launch for the Xbox 360 is going to be delayed. Don’t know how authentic the tip is, but what the tipster says is that the launch for Australia, New Zealand and the rest of the region has definitely been pushed back about three to four weeks from March 2 to the end of March.

Official word should be coming any day. If it’s true it really weakens Microsoft’s already loose definition of the phrase “simultaneous global launch.”

Well, they've now got almost exactly a month to make good on their 2.75M-3M worldwide shipment promise for the first 3 months (Feb 22nd). I guess they've backed away from it publically, but there seems to be retailers and publishers who are still holding onto that number based on information from Microsoft.
