Has anyone else experienced this? I'm using digital optical out for my sound on the 360 and for most of my games the music is way too low. I need to go into the game menu and lower all the other sounds just to have a decent balance.

Also when I try to play my own music during the game the default music volume is also way too low. Is there a way to change this?

Dude you can adjust the volume of the music in the dashboard. It's the little speaker icon.

Hit the guide button. There's a speaker icon. You have to adjust this every damn time and it's annoying.

The custom soundtrack feature is implemented in a way I really don't like.

We should be able to adjust the volume and switch tracks with the X360 remote. Going through the guide just to change the music or volume during gameplay sucks ass


At least you can change the volume, I found my music on the Xbox very low

I'm not at home so I can't test this... the speaker button is only enabled when playing *your* music right?

My problem is not only that but the music *in* the game (the soundtrack) is also way too low and there doesn't seem to be a way to raise the volume (only lower the volume of everything else).

Music in the game we can't help you with. Gonna have to turn it up elsewhere for that if it's already maxed out.

Go into the ingame options and change the volume if it allows you to

Lower volume for all sound effects except music and see if you can balance the two

Music in the game we can't help you with. Gonna have to turn it up elsewhere for that if it's already maxed out.

Arg, that sucks I've got to set every single game at 33% sound effects and voice volume just to hear the music decently.

Never thought of that, but that's a good idea. It wouldn't need an overall volume level, but something to adjust the music level would be very useful
