Anyway, the Xbox360 is sexy, I guess the mother was the pretty one.
 
Don't care if its old or not. I just find the original box very imposing in that pic. Darth Vaderish indeed.
 
Nice chrome disk tray on the 360. Hope someone will make a chrome power button with some spinners in it ;)
 
You know...the 360 is a really nice looking console. I really like it after seeing it for a bit now. I like Nintendo's as well, but it looks a bit like an external modem or something. Basically, it stands out as a N console in how different it is. But I actually think the 360 is the nicest one.

The PS3 is forever associated with the giant refridgerator photoshop.

I love the X360 design. Looks great. And it plays great games! Double bonus!

Nice comparison pic... The 360 definitely looks more attractive, but I just think the gigantic power button and the bubbly round memory card slots are a bit gaudy :P
 
i honestly don't know how anyone could like the design of the x360. the original looks like shit, but it's a masterpiece compared to the x360.

bad taste? no, just different from your own.
 
I don't think the 360 looks good at all, it just looks like some DVD player some people might think is funky, i don't think it is anyway
 
I'm not a big fan of the X360 either. Looks like a white Dell Optiplex. Personally, I think the Rev looks the nicest, PS3 second, than the 360. Bad taste? Maybe. But on the other hand, I really don't care how they look as long as they play great games. As I said, I think the Rev looks best, but I'm about 95% sure I'll never own one.

LOL. Ok. Even if you take away everyone's taste in style the fact still remains it's smaller and it has smoother lines and that seems to be the apprent trend with today's new technology. I haven't seen any electronics company go...look how BIG and BULKY our product is!

Beta dev kit is not white. It is another "color." And it's not the same size as the white one.


Also, I would just liek to say that the Xbox360 interface - the dashboard one - is a work of fucking genius. It's slick, easier to use than Tivo and does some clever ass shit when it's switched between 16:9and 4:3 aspect ratios.

I am SO using this as a media hub. I tooled around with Media Center XP and could never really get it working smoothly - two minutes of tooling with the 360 dashboard is evidence enough that I can get my PC movies, music, all sorts of shit running on my main TV at the press of a button.

This is good to know. Do you just hook up your X360 to your PC through the Ethernet port? So I could get one of those ATI TV tuner cards, record shows to my PC hdd, and then filter them to my X360 and watch on my TV?

stinkles, what kind of video formats does it support??
 
I believe they've said that and I can't think of a single reason why you can't use a hub/router/direct connection, but also, and much more importantly for hub/nightmare AV setup probs - wireless. I have a wireless ethernet terminal, but I may even spring for the USB dongle thing just for the slickness - and two less cables.

Not sure. WMV is a given, beyond that, no idea. I hope they're pretty loose about it. I can't imagine you'd get QT out of the box, but I would hope anyhting WMV plays, it would stream or play.

I'm so glad they went with vanilla XP AND Media Center.

The more I look at the media features, the more I think that it's kind of a logical HDTV/Home Theater accessory. Makes me think I'll get a PS3 too, for my Devil May Cry/Blu Ray and my 360 will be my FPS/Blue Dragon/Gears of War/iPod media hub. See? This is why we need competition.

So at a guess, it's either black or transparent? ;p Im of course stuffed if it turns out to be marble or something...

Either way the media functions sound good, hopefully they will support as many formats as they can shove on the thing with downloadable updates to codecs so I can retire my modded xbox. Hopefully MS realises more choice is better in this case.
 
Now these are features that I can get excited about. Networking my X360 with my PC is going to be cool. I'll be more likely to use custom soundtracks in games if I don't have to re-rip my music to the 'box. The ability to stream video to it is going to be very cool as well.

PS3 looks better than x360. It's still great seeing it photoshopped as a grill or fridge though :lol

Rev is the clear winner for case design.

REV is ugly shit. Only good thing about it is the size. Everything else is sooooooooo boring. What the hell are you people thinking anyway. Look I got a new switch, sexy :lol

Still looks like plain modem to me.

Yep, that's definitely cool. Hope they don't have alot of problems.
 
True that. Slot based drives are easier to operate. But are they better in the long run? What probems are associated with them? I have had a slot based pioneer dvdplayer for my PC since 1999 and while it still works it is picky about reading them.

This stuff is so subjective. I actually laughed out loud when I saw the PS3 pics - thought ti looked like a mini-casket/torpedo. Very, very ugly. The Revolution is generic to the Nth degree - I have a modem that looks just like it.
 
Revolution looks a little boring and plain. Lacks teh true concave sexay. Actually viewing it from the side I didn't know it angled downward from front to back. It's small so it has that going for it.

I still want to know how the heck Nintendo is going to match PS3 and X360 power in such a small box.
