Don't get me wrong, all this may change completely post May 12th or post E3 but so far, I am not really feeling the XBox 360 era. Given the game announcements (PGR3, Halo 2.5/3, NFS: Most Wanted Cool Ultra Hot Pursuit), and MS's attitude so far it does seem like a very evolutionary console. XBox live we have already experienced this generation, so basically all we are looking forward to so far is prettier versions of existing franchises. That just does not get me excited. Where are the new stuff? Why isn't MS talking about the new stuff that this console will allow us to experience?
I sincerely hope that MS blows us away on May 12th with its first party stuff or at E3, but so far, this console does feel more like XBox 1.5 (not graphically, but in terms of system design philosophy). I will give them the benefit of the doubt until we hear more.
