This also gives a little more credibility that Xbox first party titles will be $49.99 and there will also be a Perfect Dark Zero collector's edition. Interesting also that they're gonna lose a buck and some change on the core system which will undoubtedly be made back on purchasing the necessary accessories to upgrade it to the non-retarded version. Some retailers will probably force bundles on the core systems, unless you're someone like Wal-Mart who can handle the loss.

What? Are retailers eating up a couple bucks per Retard Pack? I guess this means they'll be forced to bundle

This is why, even though we all hate it, most stores make bundle packs instead of just selling the hardware. This is why MS is making their own bundle pack. Everyone loses money on the hardware, especially these days. Piss and moan all you want, but we're already "saving" a lot of money by getting or having gotten these different consoles at $300.

EB will probably still force a bundle on the premium package, even. The one SKU they have right now is valued at $500 and it IS a bundle, so even on $400 hardware, I doubt they're going to skip out on the opportunity to require, say, 2 games and an extra controller.

It means they won't be ordering many of the retard packs, which is a good thing.

Oh, and thankfully, this seems to confirm that prices for XBL aren't being raised (even though that would've been ABSURD).

how can that wireless network kit cost so much??
not trying to make an excuse, but I think it supports 802.11a/b/g. That 'A' adds something. I'll still use my Xbox Bridge i have :D

Kinda stupid, as almost every 802.11a device (modem/router) supports 802.11b

And lookie here: click - This is retail price! - Take out the a-standard (which almost no one uses - and even IF it's supported) and slash that price.

Even worse is Nintendo with the REV though. It's supports Wifi as a standard, and you have to buy an additional piece of electronics to use a ethernet cable... *bangs head on table*

Thanks...I'll be picking this up later

WTF? Retailers lose money with the core pack and barely make anything on the premium pack?!

Forced bundles ahoy!!

This is how it always go. Usually game systems are sold to them for a dollar or two under what they charge. This is the first time I've seen the system cost more than the suggested price!

Has anyone been able to confirm that a USB wi-fi adapter will work? It seems like it should work, but I have my doubts because nobody in their right mind would buy the wi-fi adapter when most USB wi-fi devices are 1/4th-1/2 the price. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft engineered this thing so that USB wi-fi devices won't work. I'm covered regardless because I've been using an Xbox wireless adapter that I got on clearance at Target last year for $40.

As for the post that was closed about target let me explain a little bit.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96462

Target pays 380.21 for a premium 360
and 290.16 for a core.

If ONE 360 is stolen or lost.

then thats 380 bucks in the hole for target..
So that means they have to sell APPROX 34 360's to break even again...

Thanks for posting something stupid fellow retarded Target employee.
