Xbox Design Lab is back

Kinda cool. Sucks that you can't use any hex code for colors nor change the font of the text.

Oh, can you now customize the paint jobs for special edition game controllers? Good.

It's a good sign that it's back; it means there's a future plan to maintain Design Lab. But the truth is, I thought its return would coincide with the announcement or unveiling of the rumored new controller. It's clear that this new controller, when it arrives, will do so alongside the Xbox Next, and that's when Design Lab will have another rebirth.

It's easy for microsoft to release a bunch of games people when they bought 2 publishers and multiple other studios out. Why do people always fail to mention that fact.

I used to love Xbox controllers, but they are constantly disconnecting during gameplay sessions even when using the Xbox Controller USB dongle.

Any alternative brands to use that don't have this issue?

Fuck Bluetooth.

Can I pick 8bitdo controllers
I picked up an 8Bitdo wired Ultimate during the Amazon Prime days sale as a spare and it's quickly become my primary controller. The wire is the only negative but I don't sit 10+ feet away from my screen.

As much as I'd love a custom base Xbox controller - or even one of the Pulse translucent ones - I find it difficult to spend that kind of coin when I can get two 8Bitdo Ultimates for the same price (or less).

8bitdo just announced their first wireless Xbox controller the other day. Unfortunately it's in a disgusting Rare color scheme, but I'm sure it will have other colors soon.

It seems like a mix of the Ultimate and the regular controllers as it doesn't have the extra bumpers, but has the charging dock, and back buttons.

Yeah, what's the fucking point of taking it down if you didn't improve it in literally any way at all?
Seriously, are there more customization options? I get there are more skins and designs, but nothing that would have required the service being down for half a year to add.

I looked and I didn't see anything new at all.

see now you are just trying too hard making it very obvious, 5/10 for the effort tho.
That's not what it is at all. I just genuinely don't think that Xbox's output this gen has been good at all. Same can be said for PlayStation as well. Sony has the benefit of "2nd party" games like Stellar Blade and Death Stranding 2.
  • We got Series S/X ports of some great and some not great games like MCC and Sea of Thieves but then also shit like Gears 5.
  • Halo Infishit
  • I have hundreds of hours in every Forza Horizon game but 5 is mediocre. The setting is boring and a similar setting was done much better in 3. All of the showcases are copy and pasted from previous titles but done worse. The characters are some of the most annoying and infuriating characters I can think of.
  • I know stuff like Pentiment and Grounded have fans but I am so uninterested in them I forget they exist.
  • Psychonauts is so fucking ugly you couldn't pay me to play either of them.
  • Forza Motorsport basically killed the franchise and is by far the worst in the entire series (Motorsport and Horizon combined) by quite a bit.
  • Hellblade II is boring as fuck
  • Avowed was boring.
  • Starfield was shit.
  • Hi-Fi Rush is cool but not for me.
  • Indiana Jones was fine but not nearly as good as some people seemed to think it was.
  • South of Midnight excelled in art, and characters (music sounds good but is poorly written) but the gameplay is so brain dead boring it's not worth slogging through it (when you have a toggle to skip combat entirely that means your combat is shit and tacked on).
  • Doom the Dark Ages is fine. I didn't like it enough to pay for it and I refunded it on Steam. I'll get back to it because I like Doom but in no way worth $70. 2016 is still the best in this new "series".
  • Call of Duty has been shit for more then a decade outside of maybe MW2019, and the remasters of old games.
So the games that are good and mid compared to previous entries and the vast majority of the quality titles are old ports. Now obviously this is subjective and you don't have to agree with me but their output has been shit BUT at least they actually have releases for once.

You can try a USB 2.0 extender adapter cable for the dongle. USB 3.0 frequency interferes with controllers on PC badly. Other than that, get the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 the only thing you lose compared to the official Xbox and dongle is the head phone jack but it works great and it has 2.4G.

This is the first time I have heard this. Interestingly I do have a 2.0 extender on my living room dongle and I pretty much never get disconnects.

No Core controller designs allowed? No fun.

Also just make it like personalised credit cards where you can upload an image an have it screen printed on the controller.
