xbox live question

first, MS does not sell XBox360 in our country, I'm planning on buying a imported one. So is it possible to join Xbox live outside of US?
second, for silver member, looks like I cannot actrually play any game but only have the "access" to it, according to the Xbox.com, is this true for all on-line game or only MMORPG?

Thank you. :)

Gold is for people playing games online. Silver is just access to the DL content, patches, ect. I also think you can import a 360 and play online. I've played people from all over the world on Live. As long as you have a broadband connection or spoof the Xbox in thinking you're on broadband, you should be fine.

which country?

when xbox came out in NZ, you had to get an australian live account. Don't know if this really helps you.

With gold membership you can play online when ever you want plus downloads

With the Silver membership you can only play online for free on the weekends and i dont know if you get the downloads

And those rules only apply to regular xbox live games.............things like mmorpg and other online games you have special fees for dont apply to the free weekend plan.

And there aren't any details on how often these free weekends will take place. And Silver gives you "access" to mmo games, you just add the monthly fees.
