What color is the Xbox 360? Everyone calls it white, and the controller is definitely iPod-ish bright white, but the system itself looks more grayish-silver in all the pictures I've seen.

still not really that impressed with the design i mean it is nice to a point but i dont know theres something about the color i dont like. and i dont really dig the huge lit up power button (?)...but i do have a few questions that some of you might be able to help me with...
1. the black port on the front left side is that a port for Xbox controlers?
2. im assuming that it does feature wireless controlers (havent really heard anything on it i was waiting for E3 to check it out) and is the large oval object on the right side the 'wireless port conection'?
3. whats the tiny button next to the memory card slots for...reset button im guessing?

I wish they'd gone with a single color all around. I hope the match the HDD and DVD drive in the final product to the rest of the case. In these pics, it looks tacky. Otherwise, the shape and design isn't bad. It's not that good, but I defiintely have a better first reaction than I did to the PS2. I really hated that design, but it grew on my once I saw it in person. PEACE.

Wonder why there's no "Microsoft" logo on the face. I still believe that there's a chance that the system may go through a minor rivision before release, to tighten everything up. At least I hope so.

The design looks like it was made to fit on top of the Xbox, probably not intentional but OMG no backwards compatibility!

Unless there's some crazy styling going on where the face of the disctray doesn't correcpond to the width of the actual disc tray, I've made mine so the disc trays are both exactly 97 pixels long. In your pic, one is 100 pixels and the other is 96 pixels.

They should have made it a rectangular box with special attention paid to the edges (like Apple does). It would have looks really nice, I'd bet. Also, the face of the system is so bland, the disc tray's crome finish just doesn't fit, the ir reciever should be tocked away somewhere and the bottom half (where the power button is) is too barren. Overall, it's a pretty weak looking design. The controller OTOH is really well done, from button placement to overall design and look. Don't know how they messed up so bad with the console design though.

I'm wondering if the concave shaping was to ensure that there would be adequate airflow for cooling. All of these new systems will require some serious considerations with regard to this given how much heat will be generated by their internals.
