Xbox Rewards Program Update: New Earning Opportunities and Age Restrictions

• Xbox is expanding its Rewards program with new ways to earn points, including Quests now available for PC Game Pass members and weekly bonuses for all players 18 and older, accessible via the Xbox console, mobile app, and Windows PC app.

• Starting January 7th, 2025, players can earn points through daily play (10 points for 15 minutes), weekly streaks (with increasing multipliers for consecutive weeks), and monthly challenges (playing 4 or 8 different games).

• The updated Game Pass Quests offer more opportunities to earn points by playing games from the Game Pass catalog, with clearer instructions and increased rewards; however, games requiring third-party launchers (like Battle.net) are excluded.

• A significant change is the age restriction: earning Rewards points through gameplay is now limited to players 18 and older, aligning with Xbox's commitment to age-appropriate gaming experiences; those under 18 can still earn points through other Microsoft Rewards activities.

• Players can redeem earned points for Xbox gift cards, in-game content, or charitable donations; more details and terms and conditions are available on Xbox.com/Rewards and the Xbox support page.

Posting my thoughts on a different post, but it's interesting that Microsoft wants to create perks for PC players that don't exist on non-Xbox launchers (even excluding Battle.net, which they own).

This is probably the 1st wave of building their launcher up as competition against Steam.
