Xenosaga is DOOMED! ALL OVER!

Soraya Saga updated her site again today with this: http://fridge.soraya.jp/faq.html

Frequently asked questions
Q. How could you desert the series? You Traitor!
A. I never did. A couple of years ago, the new team had decided to refresh the series. Simply I was one of the people not invited to new voyage.

Thank you for your support to the game. But I wonder why people suddenly have an interest in the matter...

So yeah, there's no question about it. I think we're pretty justified in "demonizing" (is it even that?) Namco now since there's no more speculation about the creators wanting to "move on". She got cut out of the process from XS Ep2, so sad. :(

playing XSII, it seems to me that namco and takahashi would have both been best served by meeting halfway, but i get the impression that things got so acrimonious over the first game that it was not really possible. a shame.

i'd like to see what takahashi and soraya saga could do for a new game ... but where they'd get a chance to do it is another question entirely.

HEY MICROSOFT

Microsoft is just going to be Square and Namco all over again imo. False hopes, overbudget, high expectations, and then everyone slapped in the face at the end of the day.

Takahashi's gang should just swallow their pride and go work with a smaller studio like Atlus or Nippon-ichi to create great anime style games with fullvoice that don't have that big cloud of big budget expectations riding over them imo.

I wasn't a fan of Xenosaga or Gears, but I don't think its all that fair to write off the series merely because the writer/creator of the series is not longer at the helm. Yeah, maybe X2 isn't so good and the series won't play out as originally envisioned... but maybe that's a good thing in the long run. Many series have continued on without their creators and fared very well, even improved under another person's direction

Xenosaga and its sequel seem to make a lot of mistakes, yet Baten Kaitos did so many things right, though it still wasn't perfect. Monolith has at least proven to me once that there's a great RPG developer in them and perhaps they'll do it again with Xenosaga in the future... well, if there is another one, anyway.
