What's up with that dpad on the XGP Mini?

EDIT: Whoa, the XGP Mini has 64MB NAND memory.
Trying to dethrone PSP and especially GBA SP+ for worst d-pad on a handheld.

any bets on how long these guys stay in business? :D

They've been in business for a lot longer than I expected. The original Gamepark came out what like 5 years ago? It also did well enough for them to bring out a successor.

Gamepark really caters to the homebrew community, and the original GP system did pretty well for a niche system. So who knows, they might have a few more years left in them.

Wow, i really didnt think they were 5 years in the biz...thats pretty commendable given the market state.

Well, yes and no.

Gamepark split into two companies: Gamepark and Gamepark Holdings. GP makes the XGP and XGP Mini. GPH makes the GP2X. GPH is run by the people who were instrumental in getting the GP32 opened for homebrew development and the GP32's engineering team. They left GP due to a dispute on which direction the company should go, as the people that now make up GP wanted to make a PSP rival and keep it to more of a closed-development machine.

As such, we now have the GP2X and XGP lines. I expect the XGP line to be closed for development for the most part. The real fun will be on the GP2X, which is very open for development, and is running a Linux-based OS. Once Gamepark Holdings gets the quirks out of the system, it should have some cool stuff.

Thanks for the update and corrections Lhadatt, I've been out of the Gamepark loop for a couple of years.
