XP screensaver question

My computer is password protected, and I've got the screensaver option to "on resume, password protect" enabled.

For whatever reason, though, it's not password protecting on resume. Any ideas?

I don't want to enable hibernation mode, as that eats 2GB of space on my C drive, but this seems to be the only way to get the password prompt to come up.

Anyone have any ideas?

Press the "Windows Key" and "L" when you want to bring up the password screen
then let the screensaver there take over after a few minutes of idle time (make sure you disable hybernation if it is on)

that doesn't solve the problem that arises if I have to leave my PC for a few minutes and the screensaver comes up on it's own.

It does for me because whenever I'm going to leave the computer for a second I do that...habit from school :b

I'm not sure how I can help you, but I do remember that the 'password' screen doesn't show up if the screensaver's only been up for a half a minute or so...try making it so that it comes up sooner
