I never saw this movie back when it first came out on DVD (despite it being only $10 at Fry's), but I saw it for the first time last night on IFC, and they even showed it in widescreen (right before a widescreen showing of Magnolia). Very, very good movie and I'll probably be picking it up this week from the Amazon link above.

What surprised me about it was that Alfonso Cuarón went from directing this to directing Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban.

There was a moment in the Prisoner of Azkaban where I swear it looked like they were about to have a menage o three. hat scene where they were hugging one another, and the girl was in the middle, it was exactly like the end of Y Tu mama Tambien.

The movies aren't that dissimilar, aside from graphic depictions and emphasis on sexuality.

Of course, there was a whole lot of boy/girl stuff in Azkaban that wasn't in the book. So as odd as it may seem there was definitely some directorial influence to that end.

Like that one part:

"Ron, do you want to get closer?"
"*gulp"... Wot?!"
"To the hippogriff!"

After we left the theater my friend said:

"Ron, do you want to touch my pussy?"
"Wot?!"
"Crookshanks!"

I really didn't care for Y Tu Mama Tambien. But boy was that woman a slut!!!

Aye, I agree. I love foreign flicks but this one for some reason just seemed explotive.
