You come into a skateboarding thread to tell them that it sucks. Good for you.

Also, I'm willing to bet a majority of the posters here aren't on the East Coast, but you go on ahead living in your own little world.

This sounds... stupid. I thought they were just gonna use the concept of THAW and use the power of the next gen systems to actually make it work. I like the Tony Hawk games cause I can just cruise around if I want to, downhill levels suck.

DS tony hawk made me love the game again. I'm not really very good though. keep tripping over and smashing my cartoon face open before I can reach half a million for a combo. So many options for tricks.

Gah, my reflexive "SOLD!" post was forestalled when I saw that this one might focus on downhill levels. The downhill stuff was my least favorite part of the Tony Hawk series. This might be the first TH game I wait and see on. :/

And yeah, I too don't get why people bag on THAW or the Underground games other than the usual crowd who just love to hate series with lots of sequels. The Tony Hawk games have always consistently added good improvements to the formula, and it's a damn good formula to begin with. As far as I'm concerned, going all downhill would be the first step backwards the series has taken. :/

i still think tony hawk 3 was the best ever. after that, couldn't stand to play the new renditions.

After how THAW sold it's kind of amusing that they'd use the word "Downhill" in the title to the next game.
I think after the multiple "jump the shark" goals in American Wasteland they knew that they were just phoning it in. Honestly I'd prefer if the genre was split more between the super-arcadey games and a real physics-modeled near-sim style game.

Quoted - 2 was the first game in the series I played and 3 was the one I mainly spent time with... after that I guess I just got sick of the series, not to mention the levels in the newer ones were never as entertaining to me as 3 (airport FTW). When the biggest innovation you can bring to the table is being able to get off your board and walk around on foot... it's time to at least retire the series for a few years.
