i dont know what the video is or the song, but it's here in LA. i submitted my info then got this back:

then i got a call from this irish chick going over what i can and can't wear. no logos :( i can't wear my niners hat... bullshit

anyways, hopefully i meet shirley and the gang again and we become best friends. score!

p.s. i know there are garbage fans here, so i will post about whether the song for the video is good or bad

Sweet, I didn't even know the album was done yet. Good to hear they are doing a video, not that it'll get any airplay unfortunately.

well just got back, and damn was it sweet dudes. the entire band was awesome and very nice. here are some notes:

* the song was called Why do you love me? and it was very catchy. there weren't any samples in the song and it was more rocky.

* Shirley has grown her hair out, although they had it styled pretty badly in the video. she was also wearing an ass-high mini-skirt and i have to say she looked pretty good.

* Duke is cool as fuck and funny as shit. good ol duke

* butch vig talked to us about the upcoming album among other things. he said it was a pain in the ass to get the record done, and that there were points when duke left for days without telling anyone, steve was being real weird and shirley was tough to work with. but he said that is what makes a great record. he said this is his favorite garbage record and its "a true rock record". he said there are 3 "soft" songs on the album, but that they are very well done. he was cool. we also asked why no vocals from anyone but shirley, and he said on beautiful garbage the 3 guys (steve duke and butch) tried it, and they said it was laughably bad so they cut it. i'd be interested to hear it :D

* the shoot took place in this old newspaper production wherehouse. lots of weird sets and lighting (strobe lights hurt my fucking eyes), but overall it was "standard" video making (band played, we acted like we were at a party)

* i can't dance

* if i end up being in the video i am sure i will stand out because i was the tallest person there, and the goofiest person as well. such is life

* all the band members came out one by one once the shoot was over to sign autographs, talk, etc. except shirley :( she was still stuck inside finishing the video up. oh well


anyways, i never got the MAF shirt, but i would have easily been able to wear it without a problem. the told us of the dress code prior to the shoot, but the fact is everyone wore what they wanted to. what a shame :(

but rest assured garbage fans that you will enjoy the single and the new album should be great

I've been trying to catch it on and off for the last few days. Failed horribly. I just can't stand listening to the radio, and I havn't heard it on Sirius yet. Damnit.

And none of those other places have.. *ahem*.. played it yet either.

Actually I was just able to hear the track finally. And overall.. I'm kind of dissapointed. The little bridge in the middle kicks ass, as do the guitar riffs that break up the lyrics. But the actual meat of the song is pretty 'meh'. Not horrible, but just nothing outstanding. I guess I was more looking for something to knock me on my ass like "Push It' did.

Perhaps repeated listening will increase my enjoyment. I'm still looking forward to the album/video and all that jazz.. but I can not see this getting a whole lot of airplay for them. The chorus is catchy and you can sing it, but if you turned on the radio in the middle of the track you wouldn't know it.

uh diablos i already met butch vig, this thread was made weeks ago :D . we talked personally with him for about 10 minutes. we talked about siamese dream, he said it was one of the biggest pains in the asses he ever had to deal with, but that the good records are usually a bitch to make.

now looking @ what i posted i didn't mentioned that we talked about siamese dream. but my gf acted like a big goof ball and say "um so you like uh made one of the um greatest records... ever... heh... uh... that being siamese dream.."

and i said dont listen to this dyke butch listen, you made a top notch record in SD, how does it feel to be cock of the walk baby

but honestly, he said it was a pain in the ass much like the current garbage record. not saying he was comparing the two quality wise, but he confirmed how tough it is to work with corgan :lol
