Just bought the game today as I wanted to play old mw2 MP.

The cod hq does not recognise the disc and sends you to the digital version.

There was a work around that worked a few months ago but after a update it no longer works.

This has been a problem for a few months now and Activision has done nothing about it lol

All big western publishers except for Rockstar are like this. Indiana Jones, Hogwarts Legacy, all of them. Single Player games made by Sony, other Japanese publishers, small publishers and indies are playable without a day one patch. On Switch Nintendo games are playable without day one patch but modern Gamefreak games (post 2020) often need the day one patch in the first release. That side unlike western publishers Gamefreak releases updated cartridges containing all DLCs and playable without day one patch.

Mw2 & mw3 are no longer part of the cod hub.

You install both games and now launch with their own icon. Not tested mw3. But DMZ loads up just fine in mw2

MW 2019 is still broken with the missing data pack bug preventing you from playing. I wouldn't hold out hope that they'll fix this, sell your disc, there's nothing on it anyway. If you really want it just get it digitally because it works way. For now at least.

I play it from time to time, there is an OG maps playlist that I stick to, so I just get the 09 classics.

There's noting on the disc, it just activates a download (or should).

Most games ship in a very bad state and get fixed with a day one patch (and many updates after that), this has been happening for more than a decade now, when those servers go puff you'll have a beta version or an unplayable game, like this.

Huh idk but what I am saying is ANY Competitive Multiplayer game will not have different people on different versions. Of course you will need to download the latest version.
