just like the title thread suggests. I always see good what-if castings when comic movie rumors circulate on Gaf, so here's a thread to do your dream comic book movie. pick a comic, a director, and an actor/actress to portray your comic book character. also maybe give some reasoning as to why you chose such a combination. don't be afraid to mix it up! you can swap the gender or ethnicity of the comic book character to suit your dream comic book movie idea.

i'll go first!

The Punisher starring Matt Dillion, Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. Refn directed Bronson and The Pusher Trilogy which had great drama and character development, as well as good action. I think he could really direct a dark and grimy Punisher film and get Matt Dillon to come off as a badass anti-hero.

Comic Book/ Comic Book Character: The Punisher of The Punisher Max series.

hawkguy, hawkguy and hawkguy

im happy with just Fraction involved

but it should be a TV series

and it wont happen with terrible renner hawkeye in current marvel movie universe

so.

Weird War Tales. I would do it as an anthology, of 3 stories like Tales from the Crypt or Creepshow.

John Carpenter, George Romero, and Ryuhei Kitamura would each direct one segment.

Tom Atkins would be in it. Or maybe Keith David.

Sandman
Terry Gilliam (with Gaiman doing the screenplay)
Whoever they want to cast.

Alternatively: Tarsem Singh directing.

Comic Book Movie: Black Panther
Director: Steve McQueen
Cinematoghrapher: Larry Fong
Executive Producer/Second Unit Director: Zack Snyder
Producer: Christopher Nolan
Screenplay: David S. Goyer, Duncan Jones
Cast:
  • T'Challa(Black Panther) -Idris ElbaDavid Oyelowo(Yes, I know there's a joke here but he's a great actor too)
  • T'Chaka(Father) - Denzel Washington
  • Uylsses Klaw - Mads Mikklesen

At first I was like no way, Matt Dillon has to be way too old now.

Then I looked up some recent pictures. Dude hasn't aged since the 90s.

Nicholas Winding Refn's Moon Knight starring Ryan Gosling as Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Jake Lockley/Moon Knight

Emma Stone can play Marlene, and DiCaprio gets to be Frenchie

J. August Richards as Bushman
