When it's time for a new generation of consoles... I always bid farewell to consoles.

I bid farewell to the Nintendo Switch with...

1. Iwakura Aria.

2. Patapon.

3. Xenoblade Chronicles X.

I never finished Mario RPG remake and wont. Game is awful, I bought it because of all the hype, turns out it suuuuuuuuucks.
Last Game I played and finished on the Switch was Mario and Luigi Brothership. I'm done with Switch 1.
Switch has been sitting in the dock under the TV for about a year untouched. The kids have abandoned it also.
I need to take it to Gamestop or Bestbuy for trade in.

I still have a lot of backlog, but Xenoblade X will probably be my last buy for Switch. I will probably buy Metroid Prime 4 on Switch 2

Really good swan song game for me, absolutely loved it. Hoping for a sequel on Switch 2.

These will probably be my final purchases for the Switch 1 too, though I might wait to see if Xenoblade X gets a Switch 2 edition, and apparently Nintendo accidentally leaked a Wooly World port in one their Switch 2 promo screenshots advertising Switch 1 backwards compatibility, so who knows.

I'm not bidding farewell to anything, my backlog and my Switch are going strong. Late cycle purchases will probably be Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, and Advance Wars.

Xenoblade X. Any new game is either going to be S2 exclusive or S2 enhanced.
And I'm taking my sweet time with the game. I'm 50 hours in and still haven't unlocked my skell yet because I'm busy doing EVERY quest close to my level before moving on new story chapter.

My backlog.

I bought the Arkham trilogy (played Asylum on PC 15 years ago, then City on PS3, then Knight on the Steam Deck and still ended up buying the trilogy on the Switch anyway), so maybe I'll try to finish it. And still want to finish Vampyr and Yakuza Kiwami.

I was planning on buying Pokémon Z(ero)-(fr)A(merate) and Metroid Prime 4 but I'll keep them for 2 Switch 2 Furious

I already beat the game on Wii U 10 years ago so I am also taking my time. I beat Chapter 5 and I am slowly doing quests and filling out FrontierNAV and investing Miranium into shops. Going into this high cost gaming future I think I'll only be getting long games or games that last you a long time to justify the price.

But I also think with higher specs the next Xenoblade will be something special.

The new Mario Kart with bundle(why pay $80 if you can get for $50) is a definite buy and I imagine Zelda Musou, Metroid Prime will keep me busy for a while. Donkey Kong I'm not keen on.

S2 is largely backwards compatible with S1 library so it'll primarily be a Xenoblade and Zelda machine as far as I am concerned.

I am curious on the Bravely Default Remaster price though.

I've got several things I need to play fist and with the news of the switch 2 price, I'm not retiring it any time soon.

Xenoblade Chronicles X which I'm currently playing is my first party swansong.

Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, which I like the demo of and preordered, is right now looking like it will be my last Switch game overall. Though I wouldn't count out picking up some indie or another on the eshop in May and then will be moving on to everything on S2 in June (presuming I can secure a preorder). End of an era!

Probably Prime 4.
I'm looking forward to it, but not enough to spend $450 on a new system to play ith with better settings. Specially since it will supposedly still be 60fps on the Switch 1.

So I just bought a Switch Lite and bought these games. Any other ones I shouldn't miss? Mind you I have a PS5 Pro and favour it over as it's my first Switch. I also have a Wii U so I have the main games for it (BotW for example). It's just to get ready for the Switch 2 really.

Cosmic Fantasy Collection
Metroid Dread
Super Metroid Odyssey
Super Mario RPG
Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection
Wario Ware: Get It Together
Xenoblad Chronicles 3

But is the Key card 😞😞😞
I've ultimately decided to not buy the S2 at launch because the price of their games is too high. Nintendo games basically never go on sale so if I ever get an S2 I'll definitely pick up BD HD on a sale in the far future. I'm thinking I won't bother with an S2 until the next Monolithsoft RPG comes out because with pricing if an $80 game isn't Xenoblade big with 200+ hours of engagement then it's a ripoff IMO.

Tough choice but the games that release aren't going anywhere so no rush. Especially when PC is getting cool stuff like Stellar Blade this year anyway.

They hit $42 or so at least once a year on select titles. May take a while for the new stuff though. I'm still on the fence as well.
