I don't know why Sci Fi channel just doesn't hire Roger Corman to pump out a movie a month for them.

SteveMeister

Hang out with Steve.
There's a new show coming up this Fall on NBC set in a fertility clinic. It's called "Inconceivable". Nothing surprises me any more.

Wasn't there a movie just like this on network television a few years ago? Maybe based on some Peter Benchley novel?

Wait, yup. Creature (1998) was shown on ABC. "An amphibious shark-like monster terrorizes an abandoned secret military base and the people who live on the island it is located on. A marine biologist, as well as several other people, try to stop it before it is too late..." Starring Craig T. Nelson and Kim Cattrall.

I remember watching that shit. Poor Craig T. Nelson.

That sounds like an adaptation of White Shark, which was awesome. I didn't even hear about that production, so it probably sucked.

Yes, it was based on White Shark, although I hear very loosely.

Bummer. White Shark would make for a great movie. It's like a modern version of Frankenstein with Predator and Nazis!

Sci-Fi Channel showed Peter Benchley's Creature frequently a few years back. Or maybe it just seems that way; I taped a Godzilla movie off of there once, and it's got promos for Creature at nearly every commercial break.

Jabberjaw was and will always be a poor man's Scooby Doo. Just like that piece of shit, Fang Face.

A poor man's Scooby Doo IS Scooby Doo. Seriously, why do you think all the fat, redneck women wear his apparel? HE'S A CHAMPION OF THEIR CAUSE.

Jabberjaw is an icon of the sea.

Just saw the commercial for this. Jeffrey Combs rules.

Anyone else remember these action figures that were half man/half shark? Sorta like Thundercats, but with sharks?

Edit: Tigersharks! They were just like Thundercats, but sharks.

You know, I always wondered how Sci-fi cancels shows like Farscape because of budget concerns and then somehow manages to produce crap like this....

I wonder the same thing every time Sci-Fi makes one of these god awful B-movies.

At one time I had an elaborate plan to blow up the Sci-Fi channel home office but my partner wussed out on me *cough*Calder*cough* so that never happened.

Ahh shit, Jeffery Combs fucking rocks and he's going to play in bullshit like that? I feel for him. I hope he can find better work than this garbage since Star Trek is done for now.... he routinely kicked ass even with crappy directors.

:lol

Man-Thing didn't seem as horrible as most Sci-Fi shows I've seen. But this... I think the Roger Corman reference is fitting. "You're going to impregnate me?" is of about the same caliber as, "My nuts are the size of beach balls." And the corny shark guy, of course.
