... somebody wants me to send them a 233 meg anime episode, but her campus has file transfers over AIM apparently blocked, along with BitTorrent... so she sent me a link to www.yousendit.com

You can apparently upload a file up to 1 gig... and when finished, it E-Mails the link, on their server, to the person you wanted to send the file to.

But there are no ads here... and it's apparently free.

How the hell is this possible?

Granted, I don't know if it's even working, because I see no status bar, except the Firefox icon animating...

Has anybody used YouSendIt.com? How is this free?

Every once in awhile, someone's got a file hosted on YouSendIt linked here. Always works when I try to download the file.

Hold up now. Say I want to distribute a video file like 600 mb. I can upload it on that and post the link for everyone to download? There's gotta be a catch
