Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival (3DS) rated by OFLC for Australia

^Tag Force 3 got an EU release.

Looks like it's getting localized! Don't think it's terribly surprising as haven't all the recent ones been localized?

No.

It's weird that Konami only started Zexal games now. The show's over in Japan, and its replacement is set for the fall in the west.

One day, maybe, one day people will realise the OFLC hasn't been existing since 2006. Maybe. I dunno. :p

OT : surprised Konami is localising this. I didn't know Yu-Gi-Oh was popular enough for that. Is the anime airing somewhere in the West?

Yeah I think its still got it's niche with kids. More importantly though the games have a stable base of fans as well.

4kids neuter.

Wonder if the Vanguard games will ever be localized, apparently there is a scene growing for that internationally.

smart move for them to air the show simutaneously worldwide on youtube/CR.

Heh still not the yu gi oh i want, i want a yu gi oh kinda rpg game, where you roam the streets and search for cards and battle npcs not just click the picture- fight -.-.

Oh really? I guess it's just for familiarity sake then. :P It's what I've associated the site with. :P

Falsebound Kingdom on GC was basically a traditional RPG, and screw the reviewers, I adored it! :D

Checking the wiki, it goes up to Shadow Spectres, so will be at least three sets old by the time it comes out.

Still want to play it, like the game buy won't pay for cards.

I'm the complete opposite. I don't want story or adventure modes or anything. I just want to play the card game.

Is that not normal? The game was already a set behind when it released in Japan.

I don't really see why anyone would buy a game that is nearly 4 sets old (if you include Dragons of Legend), especially considering that many of the characters have just received cards in Japan in the last 3 sets that finally makes their decks good.

Unless Trolley Olley in Dragons of Legend is nuts no-one is going to go out of their way to get the 3 Anna promo cards either.
I'll tell you what Konami can make a shit ton of money with;

Yu-Gi-Oh, Wii U, NFC, codes on real cards, profit.
How would they do that without making the cards substantially heavier though? Duel Terminal did it by a very faint QR code but the Wii U doesn't have anything that would be able to read that sort of technology.

I think they would be better off with a multiplatform (on systems that will support it, so Xbox would be out I guess, not sure about Nintendo) F2P game they keep updated. Play the base game for free and earn points by dueling. You can use the points to bet on duels and buy boosters. Real money can also be used to buy boosters, or to buy specific individual cards (= $profit).

To balance point inflation betting should not create points, it needs to be a winner take all bet between the two players. And a player might need to spend points to unlock new sets before they can buy boosters out of them.

Really, this idea (or the NFC idea) would be better for a new game that doesn't have the baggage of an existing game.

The gamepad has a camera. Its definitely possible.

And on a personal level, many of the decks that I play wouldn't be in it. Artifacts are in Primal Origin, Sylvans are in Legacy of the Valiant, and Star Seraphs get good in Duelist Advent (although granted through OCG exclusives so it wouldn't be in the game anyway even if it did support Duelist Alliance). My only primary deck in it would be Vylons.

I have no idea why they don't program these games so that cards can be easily added when it's ported over. That or Konami is just really lazy.

Strong enough to see something invisible to the naked eye though?

EDIT: I think it might have been some sort of IR or UV tech in the Duel Terminal scanners. Maybe the camera has that sort of functionality.

That's why I play ygopro if I actually want to keep up with the game. These ds/3ds games are just good bus/train games where I can stomp ai's for 20-30 minutes.

I'll probably grab it if/when it gets an American release, but missing the newer packs is super lame. I dealt with it in the World Championship games though, so I'll survive.

This is great news! I've been waiting for a 3ds yugioh game to come for a while. Hopefully it will be as good as World Championship 2010.

Also, I'm happy that millennium duels has a release date also.

It's probably something left over when they were making the yearly World Champions games on the DS. Why patch in new stuff when people would have been willing to buy a yearly update.

In a post-Dueling Network world though people have less of a reason to buy those yearly updates, so Konami can't really continue their ways regarding the video games.
