A New Legend is Born

Category: Adventure
Players: 1 player
Release Date: Holiday 2005
Publisher: Nintendo

When an evil shadow stretches from the heart of Hyrule to its peaceful borderlands, a young farm boy named Link must awaken the hero ... and the animal ... within.

Features

•When Link travels to the darkened land of Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and must scour the land with the help of a mysterious being named Midna.

•Ride into battle against troops of foul creatures, using an incredible horseback combat system, then take on massive bosses that must be seen to be believed.

•Many puzzles stand between Link and the fulfillment of his quest, so players must sharpen their wits as they hunt for weapons and items.

•Characters include Link, Zelda, Midna and many others, both new and old.

Link, a young man raised as a wrangler in a rural village, is ordered by the mayor to attend the Hyrule Summit. He sets off, oblivious to the dark fate that has descended upon the kingdom. When he enters the Twilight Realm that has covered Hyrule, he transforms into a wolf and is captured. A mysterious figure named Midna helps him break free, and with the aid of her magic, they set off to free the land from the shadows.

Link must explore the vast land of Hyrule and uncover the mystery behind its plunge into darkness. As he does, he’ll have to enlist the aid of friendly folk, solve puzzles and battle his way through dangerous dungeons. In the Twilight Realm, he’ll have to use his wolf abilities and Midna’s magic to bring light to the land.

Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link will use his bow and arrows, fight while on horseback and use a wealth of other items, both new and old.

Oh geez, not another light/dark world element. This doesn't sound appealing after playing MP2. Mulptiple characters sounds interesting.

Sounds like a mix between Majora's Mask and OOT. I like.

I wonder if it's going to be a stand alone game, or if it'll appear around one of the more recent titles.

So will this be playable on the show floor? I was expecting a small exhibition of the game at Nintendo's conference, but no.

So is it? :?

what impressed me most so far is actually the music in the last 2 trailers. They have both been absolutley stunning and that makes me one happy camper.

The music in Minish Cap was awesome, so I'm hoping that this continues the tradition. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Zelda music, though I don't really care much for Kondo's other work.

Wow, after reading this and IGN's write up, I am more excited than ever.

Link is the wolf, Zelda is the hawk.

Brilliant...Going to be a departure at the beginning, methinks.

I hope we get to spend a good deal of time at the ranch, though.

Yeah, I really dig the concept behind this story. Not the usual "save the princess" stuff (which OoT did fantastically [and TWW improved upon]).

Sounds like Okami.

My interest isn't as high for this game anymore. I think I'll get it for sure but I'm not dying just waiting for it. meh.

Well, I am glad that this Zelda is looking to give all other zeldas a great match for the best game in the franchise. Will be a good holiday for gamers.

Sweet

It reminds me of Link to the Past when you appear in the dark world and because of the dark world, you are a rabbit. I like it that the environment makes Link a certain way.

Hopefully the game will have many bizarre things, such as those found in the dark world of LttP.

Nintendo, please announce Mother 3.

What? I thought he was the producer.

When Aounuma entered the scene, Reggie said "here is the director and producer of Zelda Twilight Princess."

I was as confused as you.
