PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

I keep trying to add SFxT to my cart and checkout, but it shows as full price.
I thought it was supposed to be free for PS+ members in February?

Really? I added all my games at the start of the month. I didn't see SFxT though, I got Dynasty Warriors and Modnation. PS+ is confusing :(

So, I'm trying to cut back on game purchases this month and I will only buy one game aside from TxK.
Please help me decide.
Toukiden: The Age of Demons (PS Vita – Retail & PSN) – February 14th (EU)
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (PS Vita – Retail) – February 14th (EU)
Ys: Memories of Celceta (PS Vita – Retail) – February 25th (EU)

Please be aware I'll be away from "on-line play-worthy" internet starting in March, so single-player and replayability takes priority. Is Toukiden still a viable option ?

If you like that genre of game, sure why not? It has a fairly lengthy single player mode, crafting options and you can take along NPCs instead of hunting with an online party.

If it's a game that you'll want to last you a long time I'd go for Toukiden or Ys. Danganronpa looks great but I can't imagine it'd be a very long game.

Lol. Every time he posts something like that I'm left wondering "are these responses genuine or are people continuing the joke?"

It's definitely a mix: I can say for sure that Flightmare (and a few others) almost always knowingly continue it, but also some casual threadgoers genuinely try to "help" corrosive.

It was a parody post

Unless this is a meta-parody reply. Whoa
The TOS make it painfully clear that trolling is acceptable but meta-trolling is a bannable offense. I've skirted the edges a few times, but I've always stood clearly on the correct side of the line to protect my account.

I'm pretty sure it was announced for February, so it should be free now
No. See my previous post.

Off course they're genuine
Thank you. Glad someone is paying attention.

You can put me clearly on the side of non-casual helpful threadgoers.

What's your PS4 PS+ march guess?
Octodad? Secret Ponchos? Helldivers? Trine2?
#Driveclub
Helldivers isn't done and would have a hype train.
Trine 2 would break the new game cycle.
Secret Ponchos is April and will have a hype train.
Octodad, despite owning a lot to Sony and PlayStation at this point, launched on PC last month with a tbd PS4 release. Perhaps Sony needs to see some review scores before the PS+ offer can be signed.
Basement Crawl got pulled a week out from its release date for a "very exciting opportunity". And had no comment when asked if it was for PS+.
Mercenary Kings is going through certification but it's unlikely that they'd give their game to PS+ instead of letting people buy it.
It's hard to detect sarcasm when you're multitasking :(
Super Motherload
Yes. No.

Tl:Dr : Octodad and Basement Crawl

Yeah, I know the Flightmare's in on it. It's the people that aren't "regulars" that I wonder about :p.

Wasn't there another game that's supposed to be finishing cert? I can't remember for the life of me; hell, I might just be confusing it for Mercenary Kinds. Maybe it was Samurai Gunn?

Octodad might be delayed until early April, so I doubt it's a march ps+ game

Probably just Mercenary Kings. Any number of games could be going through cert but they should have been through by now. March PS+ day is cutting it close.

That's basically a confirmation for me.

Basement Crawl for March PS+.
It got pulled a week from its release date. It's finished. It's new. Declined to comment about a direct question as to whether it was a PS+ game.

They are 3 awesome games, one is a monster hunting game, another is a crazy investigative game and the last one is an action rpg (light on the rpg side though), just choose your favofite genre.
Personally i'll buy daganrompa at d1.

I'm actually pretty hyped for Basement Crawl. I love the horror vibe.

Yo coolasj19 and Tapejara. Up for some TLoU?

I don't think I'll be able to play tonight. I'll likely be down for tomorrow.
I'm going to try going to bed at a reasonable hour :p

How does Spelunky play on Vita? I've got credit to use and was considering it. Frame rate OK and such?

I find there can be some slowdown at times, but I rarely notice it. Otherwise, it's a solid port. Looks great on Vita and controls well with that DPAD.

agreed on pretty much everything. I dunno what Sony was thinking with this great screen and then (apparently) not enough power in the system to run games at native res most the time (forget native/60fps for anything with modern graphics). I had the same complaints when I got the MGS collection too, it's pretty damn ugly and blurry.

L2/R2 missing makes remote play virtually worthless :(

No. NO. Sony didnt make hardware not powerful enough to run games at native res. Developers are the ONLY ones who choose what res their game will run at. If they port a PS3 engine over and its running at 3fps? Then optimize the engine and be creative, instead of lowering and lowering the resolution to get it at a playable framerate. Look to games like Virtua Tennis, Tearaway, PSASBR, and Killzone to see engines that have been properly optimized for the architecture. It will show you that Vita is MORE than powerful enough to handle the resolution.

When Vita launched, it was the most powerful consumer mobile device ever made.

^ did you grab Dustforce yet btw?

---also, saw this on reddit, maybe some of you would know him:

hmm with all these release it's time to get another PSN credit ($50)

damn. I hope these games launch with some PS+ discount... why don't more publishers do this? is getting that extra $5 bucks from us on launch that important?

Flandy! I'm busy. I'll be online in a quite a few hours.

Yes, is that important. Launch week is the biggest week and I doubt at $60, $5 makes a difference. Now for indies, who rely on word of mouth, getting it into as many people's hands ASAP is paramount. Then they have how ever long their tale is, cut the price 1/3rd in 6 months. One more time in a year.
Nah, I am still trying to decide whether I should.
Play the demo to see if the technical issues bother you! And hurry up! The sale goes away Tuesday if your interested.

Sort by lowest scoring Vita Games. Pick the thing exactly in the middle. It's that one. And a random PSP game.
I have a list internalized, but Sony threw a wrench in that when they gave out that God awful Trials rip-off and a PSP game.
It doesn't look interesting though :/
That's exactly why they'll let Sony put it on PS+. Niche audience, mass appeal, was never going to sell in the first place.

Just booted up my PS3 for the first time in 3 months. And what the fuck. So many awesome PS+ games. Who has time for all these. I already have a massive backlog of PS+ games. Damn you Sony.

meh, I'd wager there's more people interested in PS4 remote play than there is people carrying their Vitas in their pockets. I'd also like to have a word with the guy who thought back touch pad was a good idea.

I'm 100% positive this is false. Majority of Vita games are not running at native res.

then again I don't really play many indies so if we count all those... who knows. Regardless, running 2D indies at native isn't impressive. I should probably rephrase my above statement to Vita games with 3D graphics

He stated a fact, how can you be 100% positive that it's false?

Regardless, the Vita has relatively more native res games than the PS3 has 1080p games. Probably similar number of sub-res games if you cheat and count 720p as the "native" resolution for PS3 games.
