PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

can you sell me about the game? i mean it has good music? is it the same levels again and again or how does it work?

Welcome to the TOP OF THE PAGE VitaGaf Recomendations!

Buy Olli Olli, Malicious Rebirth(check reviews and trailers first) then buy Muramasa Rebirth, and the Curve Bundle . Do not buy Stealth inc, is a generic , boring platform game.
Kind hard to not buy Stealth Inc. since it's in the Curve Bundle.

URRRRGHHHH I want Lone Survivor but the Curve Bundle also featured Thomas was Alone and I already bought it, one of my most regretful purchases :\

Sony you bastards. They announced TLoU would be £19.99 from the 19th feb, but because I wanted to play the DLC day one, I rebought it on disc. Now I just noticed they have TLoU up already for £17.99 (PS+ price)

The Edge review for TxK sounds fantastic. Sadly I'm not in the mood for something that gives me premium grade seizures.

I've been interested in the game since I never played any of its predecessors.

I asked Jeff if it'll be available in JP region (or atleast Asian/HK) and got no reply. :(

I'm not up for maintaining more than 2 accounts.

As expected Rebellion Run, a f2p game, doesn't look interesting

I bought Broken Sword and i'm liking it but i would have preferred a different input configuration, imo the rear touchpad could have been used as a cursor to select object, i don't like my finger hiding the objects i have to interact with.
I bought Terraria too but i still don't know if it was a good move, still undecided on Lone Survivor and TWD.

Do not buy Stealth inc, is a generic , boring platform game.
I would not saying that is generic or bad, but yes i don't like it.

Tempted to grab God Eater because its on sale, anyone know if its worth it for the singleplayer?
Absolutely yes.

That's good to know. I have to charge up my Vita and get that connected to this thing. I never expected say, disc backwards compatibility, but I would like to go back and play some of the PS3 digital games I bought. Will be nice when the day comes when I don't have to switch the cords back and forth...heh.
Crossbuy may be enabled for some psn games as they get added to the ps4 store. Zen pinball did this. So eventually you might be able to play some of the digital games you've bought on it.

How's bravely default? I was gonna buy the game but the demo had So. Much. Grinding. Turned me off the game entirely.

Sorry for the off topic.

I dunno. Seems good so far.

I actually loved the demo since I am crazy about character building and customization.

The full game still hasn't hit its stride in the first hour since its mostly setting everything up. You do get into gameplay quick but I dont have any classes unlocked yet

That's good to know. I'd really like to play Tactics Ogre on the big screen one day.

I doubt that'll make it to cross play, but a guy can dream, can't he?

GET IT

Its soo fun dismembering monsters! Just remember to get some buds to play with you

Hunting games SHINE with more people. Plus DAT Party Chat

Worth it without friends (wifi)? I play 99% of the time somewhere without a wifi connection. Never got into a MH type game before either but I am mildly interested...

Don't worry. Even without friends, Toukiden is still a good game largely because the A.I. is very competent.

Ahh this a post that was a long time coming. Was meaning to post each thing individually, but life made me delay it, plus new things kept happening, so more kept getting added on…without further ado…

In preparation of Toukiden coming out, I was wanting to clear my slate as best as possible. Wanted as little hanging over me backlog wise, in case this game took over my soul like other similar hunting games have. IN the past week and a half, I played through and beat Tearaway and Killzone Mercs. Played quite a good bit of Olli Olli as well, and the demo for Dustforce.

Tearaway… what can I say about this game? It’s an absolute gem of a game, not just for the Vita, for all videogames in general. I couldn’t play this game without having a giant cheesy grin on my face. It was unbelievably charming, and fun, and so much more that I can’t put in to words. So much slick presentation everywhere, in every aspect of the game. Pure joy, in a digitized videogame format.

I was very pleased with Killzone, also. Yes yes, the graphics, we all know how beautiful the game is. But to me, it played way better than the mess on PS4. I actually hate KZ games. I bought SF because “it was the game to get”. Bah, I traded it in pretty quick. I bought Mercs as a part of their sale a few weeks back, mainly because I really enjoyed the MP beta of it. I figured 9 bucks wasn’t bad to blow on it, in case I didn’t care for it. Boy howdy, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I love KZ Mercs. Mission variety is great, and the MP is a blast to play. And dem grafix!!! Seriously though, I was blown away by KZ too. I used it to balance the happy positive vibes from Tearaway….fire up some MP rounds in between clearing bookmarks in Tearaway.

Olli Olli grabbed me much harder than I thought. I really have enjoyed what I have played, finding myself firing off quick skate sessions each time I would smoke. Nailing those perfect lines is a great feeling, but I’m not too terribly awesome at it. Really love the feel of Hotline Miami x Tony Hawk.

Dustforce…has an awesome idea, I love almost everything about it…but the demo was pretty brutal on that slowdown. I can see replaying levels for perfect runs, and there is something about the platforming/combat that I really enjoy. I just may still buy it, because I can look past the slowdown, and I am feeling the urge to buy TxK after watching a 15 second video, and hearing it’s praise on here. Gotta get all that money back on the Vita deal, ehhhh??

But really, to me, my biggest and greatest achievement just happened...

I recently joined the Double Vita Club! I found an Assassin’s Creed Edition on Craigslist, pretty much mint condition.…Price may have been steep ($200) but I just got my tax return and my inner Scrooge McDuck was not caring; all he saw was a chance to own that beautiful Vita. So I did. And I couldn’t be happier. I wanted set up my original Vita to be a JP one…buuuuut my gf will likely be playing it a bunch now. Which is cool by me. I just can’t get over how sexy that white finish is…it even came with a Hori Screen Protector perfectly installed, saving me the hassle of using my backup Hori on it. I picked this up the day that the slims were announced for NA, and I’m feeling lucky about the acquisition. I don’t know how truthful the seller was being, but it seemed I lucked out with them choosing me to sell it to, as well. Toukiden will command the slot on this Vita for a long, long time. Haven’t been able to play much, but it’s stellar. It will now be my game to mix up the cheeriness of Tearaway while I plat it, or if I need a break from some more of the great indies I got that I have yet to play.

Hey guys, should i play Muramasa before or I start Persona 4 or not?

Also how is the nyko power pack for the vita? I want to pick up a grip but I am afraid that my big hands won't fit the smaller ones.

Cancelled my Toukiden preorder. Got hyped by the GAF Thread, but on second thought for someone who never could get into MH, the order didn't make much sense. Knowing that I would play the game most of the time offline didn't help either.

just dawned on me - the reason that borderlands bundle is coming with an 8gb...the game and assuredly the DLC wont be able to fit on a 4gb card. i'm expecting another killzone-sized or more game.

man....damn sony and their 4gb and game size restrictions.

update on my lost vita: it's still lost, the refund claim will take atleast a month...I don't know if i should rebuy a vita now or wait :( really should go hands on with the 2k. i am in love with the oled white vita that i had... i just dont know if the 2k black will be as sexy hardware wise in my hands

Understandable

Gotta know yourself and what experience it will be for you before dropping a hot 40 bucks

Awesome post! You can always call me when you want to play Toukiden. :D

Oh yeah, I made an elemental weakness chart just for you! Check it out.
Thanks and thanks! That chart will help, as mytechnique of looking at the armor sets, and then choosing the element that the armor is weak to as the element the Oni is weak to, seems to have worked ok, but your chart is awesome, thanks again!!! I certainly will be calling, also. I have been finding myself wanting to build up a solid repetoire of gear first, but then I also just want to slay with other live people. Plus I got those MP missions from the Gamestop pre order I have been wanting to check out....
okay. I'm gonna buy Toukiden when I get home...
Your choice is....eggscellent. Come on down to the Touk Thread, join the fun http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=763211

I'm not saying don't cancel it, but playing offline doesn't quite feel like solo. You can take AI companions on every mission I have played so far, and if you ever DO play online I hear you can take the hunters you've met online with you in offline missions. Seriously check out the demo though. It's like MH, but then not because it's faster paced, and all the tediums from MH are pretty much gone. Plus, the demo is the beginning of the game, so if you try it, and ike it, everything you have done will be like you were playing the full game all along...aside from the item/money cap..

I never played Murumasa, but Persona is a time stealer. You will be surprised at how quickly you will lose hours and hours of your day zoning out to the hypnotic music and gameplay.

On the topic of Nyko packs, I trust a fair amount of their products, but not the battery packs. One I got for my 3ds overheated the system, and pretty much fried my L trigger. I'd recommend buying a grip and charger separately, I don't use one though. People here will be able to weigh in on that very well, though. If you must have a battery pack, I have something for you and all of VitaGaf.

I bought Sony's offical charger. It's great. About 6 hours to charge -_- BUT, you get at least one and a half charges out of it, and that is with you playing the Vita the entire time it is charging. Otherwise if it's off you get up to 1.75 full charges. I bought mine for $35, but now Amazon has them for $25. THAT is a steal in my book. Plus, for anyone with the PDP Pull and Go Folio, they fit perfectly in the case nestling on the charging cables if you play your "cable-tetris" just right, making that case hold EVERYTHING you would need for at least 12 hours of straight Vita play. Here's da link :
Official Sony Portable Charger, $25.

Hey, whats with the thumbsticks on your white vita? and are they any good?

Hey, whats with the thumbsticks on your white vita? and are they any good?
I got this set - Enhanced Thumb Grips Quad Pack BRAND NEW for Playstation Vita by KMD. I love them, they are great, but each pack comes with 2 Dpad covers that will go unused, and here is the kicker- each pack comes with 6 different thumbstick covers. That's right, 6 different. So to get a matching set you need to order two of these.

That aside, I love the covers I have. One set is concave-like, similar to 360s sticks. It adds a good deal of extra grip, and to me that means better control. The extra height, as little as it is, is also very nice. The best part is that everything still fits in my case, and I have more covers for my other vita. The cover themselves are silicon based, so they are pliable, making installation much easier.

From looking at amazon, I believe there are other sets out there that might be more complete, but I have no experience or knowledge about those.
