Is it just me or is social engineering a code out of support a little sketchy?

They have emails sent out at random(and we have no real messaging on if any even got sent yet), while a bunch of codes are being posted on twitter to get sniped immediately by bots. I'd say getting support to give codes is par for the course for how this whole thing was handled.
