PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

It'll all be alright. Just take a deep breath and let's troubleshoot some. I'm gonna list some steps and after each one doesn't work go to the next one, but I have to go to sleep after this so you gotta keep moving forward on your own. First step. Turn off your Vita. Then turn it back on. Second step. Check your router. Turn it off, then turn it back on. Third step. Just wait a few hours. PSN is probably getting a tad hammered from TLoU seeing as how it's probably an unscheduled usage spike. Fourth step. Give us screen shots. Fifth step. Rebuild database of your Vita and other soft cleaning measures. Sixth step. Something else it wrong.

Don't really think the servers are getting hammered too much. I'm currently downloading the DLC at like 2 MBs per second. Normally after the blog post goes up on PSN my download speed is cut down to like 1/4 of that

Well, not for medium term effects. But PSN has had quite the interesting week. I'm pleasantly surprised I can raise my expectations of how it can operate when handling odd circumstances.

I've been busy the last two days, so I didn't post that much. I have ordered Toukiden today, so it'll be here on Monday. I'll play more FF7 and DW Next in the meanwhile and I'll plan my buys for March, April and May (when I'll be wealthier! :D)

I've read those DanganRopa 2 announcements and the Disgaea 4 one. I'll try to buy the original DanganRopa in April to support those guys since March is FFX month (and maybe GoW Saga, it's 35€ on Amazon.es. which is awesome for 5 games. It'll be NTSC but I don't care).

So it seems i cannot import more games in my country (Argentina) so i will go digital only becouse of the new "amazing" rules my country has. They basicly limited the import of products to only 2 products and the yearly sum of the prices has not to be over 25 dollars. And if i buy something (retail) i have to pay 35% becouse im buying "outside" of my country plus 50% once it arrives on the country becouse customs charges you that....IF i go digital i have to pay only 35% more of the real price.Like for example the Curve Bundle wich was a great offer of 15 dollars i have to pay it more than 20 dollars. Consider yourself lucky guys.

What do you mean by Medium term effects?
Short term : Less than 12 hours.
Medium term : 12 hours to 2 days.
Long term : 2 days and more.

That's only for network infrastructures though. Since we all know how far "just wait" can go.

You did not just describe a digital tariff... That... Just... No. I'm angry now.

How about shipping a memory card? Load it with games and only the value of the card counts? How deep does the rabbit hole go for you?

Damn, even if you import from the Mercosur? I'd guess Paraguay and Uruguay would have some "fair" prices on games (prices in Brazil are far from fair, I assure you).

And digital fee is just too much, what the hell.

unfortunately a memory card goes over the allowed yearly sum(more than 25U$ per year) but i can still buy digital things only with the big bosses of my country stealing a 35% of the money i pay in any transaction.Wich is tottaly unfair. So im actually Uruguayan (the country next to the one i live right now) but Argentina is where i live , it does make me very sad becouse there is a lot of games i already bought that are stucked in Customs becouse of this new law. I wish i where in my native country(Uruguay) wich doesnt have this ridiculous rules.

Yes even if i import retail or physical products from the Mercosur...It is so unfair , my salary is not so big , i work as GSD support for HP. I can assure you a lot of people is really angry right now , not to count we get salaries in Pesos(the country currency) and not in dollars , the dollar here right now is like 1U$=8$Pesos.

Has the Argentinian Peso's value fallen that low for you guys to get such treatment. Why the intense desire to keep the cash flow inside the country? I don't want to make fun of your situation so I won't consider myself lucky.

A desperate movement from the country government to keep dollars inside becouse the people where spending or saving all dollars outside the country. A real bad management and ideas from this country´s Big Bosses. Argentinian Peso right now is divided in three different currencies two of wich are ilegall. We cannot buy dollars in the country , unless you meet certain requirements, and the maximum amount of dollars depend on your salary.
You are indeed lucky of not having this kind of people under the economy of a country. We are transforming into the new Venezuela(that use to have the same exact issues with Chavez) .

And I complain about Spain, holy shit.

Most countries in South America use both the native currency and dollars, right? The problem is now you cannot buy dollars until you meet those requirements and they're limited, so you are forced to see how your salary (in pesos) is dropping in value because you can't change more of them to USD.

Something like this?

That's a huge problem, not only because you can't buy more videogames but it probably affects the price of everything. Hope your situation improves soon bro :)

You could use the US PSN Store and buy things using DD to avoid those taxes, right? With Amazon you can use a foreign card even if your account has a US adress. You'll have to use $, but you'd avoid the other bullshit.

That'd be far too easy. I bet there's a layer on top of that to stop it from happening.

Yeah it works for Venezuela because it works. How high can you raise dissatisfaction before people just move out? Is that even possible? There's gotta be something.

What if someone else bought you usable Amazon codes? A code for reception is just a string of characters until it's used. Maybe if classified as a gift? Or for professional reasons?

thank you the router thing worked!!! know it doesnt have 111 friends online lollllllllllllllll thanks bro!!!

My router is fine and I observed similar problems in the last few weeks. Sometimes my own online status didn't update properly, I saw myself playing Broken Sword apparently even after several hours closing the game (completely, not just standby).

Digital taxes are 35% if i buy in any country that is not Argentina , so yes , i have a US account and they are already charging me those taxes. Thanks Btw i hope it improves soon too.

Well, that could work. He'll still have to pay the guy that buys the code, but it'll be easier to avoid the taxes.

Really happy that Danganronpa 2 was confirmed for this fall. Going to start the first one now

I'll wait a little, but now I'll buy the first games without worries. Maybe preorders were quite good and that's the reason they announced the sequel so fast.

We need to support those guys. Japan has announced more DR games for 2014-15 right? And there is Corpse Party too.

Looks low budget but pretty good. Will it get a retail release? If it's coming out in PC/360/Vita they could just do a Steam/XBL/PSN release.

Honestly Experience games look all the same game with a different skin to me, with Demon Gaze having probably the worst skin while SOTVOTS one of the best.

Planet Destroyer Black Heart(Neptunia Noire SRPG spinoff) gameplay trailer!

Man Stranger of the Village of the Sword looks EXTREMELY good

I'm convinced that Demon Gaze is really Experience's weakest entry design-wise.

1001 Spikes new video

Oh my god. That artwork for Man Stranger of the Village of the Sword looks sooooo good. If that's what the game is all about, then count me innnnn!

And this Neptunia spin-off trailer doesn't have any creepy pandering. If that will carry through the rest of the game, then I want it too!

Today is a good day with this, lots of Jrpg news and Lightning Returns is with me :D

So I think I may have network issues with Toukiden. Tried finding lobbies this morning and it said unable to find any, considering how new the game is I reckon this isn't the case. My NAT type is usually Moderate when I game on PC, so maybe that might be it? Any way I can make it open (ports?) Really want to get some multiplayer going as it will make or break this game for me.

Every piece of media is a dagger through my heart.

What is with this silence? Is it ready better to have a media blowout pushing a bunch of first party PlayStation 2 ports (that already showed up on PlayStation 3 years ago) instead of exclusive software coming out in just a month in Japan?

Delicious stealth release? Waiting for the JP launch to make the loc announcement?

This has been the case across all my PS systems since the ps3 newer firmware. It is a PSN issue though. To many friends with the same thing going on for me to believe otherwise.
