What I don't understand is why they had everybody rush to sign up on the website then have it be a random draw. Then give out a bunch of codes to people before sending out the emails. Then they gave the people they gave codes to more codes to give out before they gave half the people who signed up theirs. What was the point of signing up?

They shouldn't be having any server outages. Other games have done it right in the past. And it's not like the azure servers are really being used up by anything else right now.
