Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

Hey! I just bought Wii Fit U today, and she doesn't look like that anymore! Sakurai is basing her on old school Wii Fit evidently, because now she wears green instead of blue and she's got a bit of skin tone.

I bet this has already been covered in this thread.

I'm pretty sure the green color scheme is going to be one of her alt colors.

I love how airborne Mac has the "ohshitwhatdoIdonow" expression. Seeing what he does for his other aerials will definitely be fun to test out

Nice! Mega Man looks like a bobble head. I love his expression. He knows he's in trouble lol.

I say a FE:A character us incredibly likely since its the most popular title by a significant margin. Choosing from those the only characters I see as being plausible are Chrom, Lucina or Robin. I personally would steer to some sort of team with Chrom and Lucina but im not entirely sure how feasible that would be. The other problem is another blue haired swordsman for the FE series is a bit too similar and it poorly represents the franchise. Perhaps they could focus on the team up aspect by having your assist character in the background and they somehow power up your character's specials. For example they could have Chrom be on the stage and Lucina be in the background like PT providing assistance for his specials and his down special switching Chrom and Lucina's specials. That or have Chrom be the only character fighting and have some sort of system with the possibility of different characters(Tiki, Virion, Tharja, Robin, Olivia, Sumia, etc) providing assistance from the background.

Something like that could work but I think it might be cumbersome to have them somewhere in the background though. Maybe they could work like Marvel's assist where they just randomly come in. But in Smash case they could be called for an attack or a block. Mac has a meter so it's not out of the question to have a way to alert the player when an assist can happen. I love the idea of having other characters as assists but it seems like a lot of extra work. I can kinda visualize this idea so it's a start.

So Little Mac is focused on ground game but is plagued by horrible aerial abilities. Characters like this usually end up really overpowered or very weak.

Pic of the day. Little Mac can deliver some solid punches while fighting on the ground.

...However, he's not the strongest fighter while airborne. Try keeping his feet on the ground and avoid being blasted into the air when you use him in battles.

sweet.

besides the Ice Climbers (who are good for their grab infinites), Olimar, and Snake, which ground-based characters are actually good

I wonder if his aerial attacks are significantly reduced in power, in addition to being limited in range and all-around clumsy. Maybe the idea is Mac has to ground himself to pull off his punches. All dat fancy footwork!

It looks like his Neutral + B will help him cover distance, especially when charged.

Unless, it acts totally different off the ground, but I doubt it will.

What if we were looking at it wrong the entire time. What if Zelda and Sheik are completely different characters that change with their new Final Smashes like Samus.

Phantom Zelda and a new down-B for Sheik?

With all the features the newcomers are getting I hope we get a better training mode for this game...

One thing's been bothering me. In the trailer, when Little Mac does that super charged attack that KOs the three characters he was fighting, they all fly upwards and you see the the kill flashes? What the hell's up with that? Those are only supposed to appear if you knock a character to the side, or if they fall.

Well for one it's more like diagonally upwards, not straight, so it might be at the corner of the blast zone. Though maybe they also took out star KOs (which I actually am in favor of).
