The Order: 1886 New Trailer On 18th February - 1400 GMT/1500 CET

I have a feeling we're going to see some good looking monster/wolf fur tomorrow and some photorealistic interiors. The way everyone keeps hyping the graphics mean they just have to be shocking. If they aren't, then that'd be pretty disappointing.

I think RAD has intentions of building an entire franchise out of it, so yeah. Weesuriya has talked a bit about the background of the lore, like how monsters, half-breeds existed, how they represented a stronger force in the past of The Order, how there was a man named Arthur, founded the Order, etcetc.

We don't know how old some of these knights are. The lore states that they basically age extremely slowly or something like that, ( can't recall ), but it does seem like they've got a lifespan, since Galahad inherited the title, and is not the original Galahad.

Missed your reply.

I'm a bit off then with the age of the characters then, I love the setting, I just want it done justice and it sounds like they are building something special.

I'm so happy for another PS4 exclusive - exciting to see what happens when developers aren't constrained by weaker hardware. RaD have been amazing so far..

Expecting something really special

Someone described the gameplay as looking like an in-game cutscene. So that's pretty intriguing.

Visually it took PS3 until UC2 to really flex its muscles, 3 years after the system launched. The thought that PS4 will do that in under a year with The Order is crazy. So glad Sony decided to go with efficient instead of exotic hardware.

I want to keep my expectations in check but all this talk about the footage being a looker has me quite hyped. I really hope gameplay isn't just shooty shooty, I wanna see NPC's and moving through crowded places.

Those PSP games were beastly. Ghost of Sparta was up there with any of the best GoW games, and its visuals were insane for a PSP title.

There were many high-quality PSP games that were by no means inferior to a AAA console game, in both their scope and design. RAD's Ghost of Sparta is one of them.

Daxter is IMO the best installment in the "Jak&Daxter" franchise.
And the two GoW definitely live up to the quality of the first three main GoW titles.

Its very rare that a studio that takes on a franchise of another studio manages to keep the quality, but with RADs games you really see the love and passion and of course the technical know how that was put into those games.

They're really like the NaughtyDog of the PSP.

OOOOOOOOO ...

After having killed two enemies Galahad leaves his blanket and began to run, vault while bullets fly around him. He jumps into the void and throws himself on the back of a enemy. Follows a brutal hand-to-body. Here, ferocity of The Last of Us After a rifle butt in the face, Galahad grabs the head of his enemy and throws against a wall. We also think Heavy Rain with usage QTE during action … As time passes slowly, the player only has a few seconds to press Triangle and push his assailant to the ground, Galahad then launches on him, the camera passing over his face. The, once again, time slows down. And while the knight remains enemi floor plate, we must look around to see heros quo do. Here, a knife, Galahds in saissit violently and plant the blade into the tra-chee his opponent.

It's every cinematic-driven game developer's dream to be able to make gameplay look like an in-game cutscene.

Very hard to take it seriously, literally.

Have you seen the PSP God of War games? They are still amazing on a technical level, they squeezed out God of War 2 level set pieces onto a handheld

They are literally designing the game around having cutscenes transition seamlessly into in-game gameplay. It may have been practically impossible on last gen hardware but we are working with a completely different piece of kit and a developer with a great handle on technology.

Jeremy Conrad's tweet has me hyped through the roof. Tomorrow can't come soon enough. Exclusive next gen visuals on PS4. Hyped.

I think there's a bit of misunderstanding. What I meant was the ability to integrate set-piece quality experience into the existing gameplay mechanics, ( without actually hand-crafting a set-piece moment ), thus creating a gameplay experience that looks and feels like an in-game cutscene.

Wasn't doubting the visuals, or the ability to pull out excellent set-pieces. I definitely think that RAD will be able to make that happen, but I was talking about purely gameplay.

What the hell? Where is this from? Goddamn, this is making my heart ache so bad. I'm gonna play Skyrim to kill off the time because I can't goddamn sleep thanks to you.

"What's the most striking is the incredible sharpness of the graphics, the textures... there are no differences between cinematics and gameplay"

"tap on the touchscreen to send Morse message..."

"Each texture reflects differently the light"

"We naturally think to Uncharted with the characters animations.. all the animations look realistic"

"Melee combat similar to The Last of us...time slow down with QTE actions"

This game is going to melt faces. Killzone and Infamous were the beginning and I think this along with Uncharted will take PS4 to the next level.

I'd assume a lot of that has to do with presentation(camera angles, etc) as well.

Is shinobi an insider?

Either way, HYPE!!!
Shinobi gets some good info from time to time.

Shinobi is banned?
He'll be back soon.

Hmmm....

Would have preferred the quick time events were like the ones introduced in GOW:A.

The QTE stuff sounds different than usual. In GI they described it as slowing down time in order to give you a chance to decide to counter or grab something from the environment and attack.

Still, the presence of prompts isn't something I wanted. Although a minor detail, I loved what GOW:A did with the gorgon and elephant battles.

This sounds better to me
Ready at Dawn took a unique twist to QTEs, sometimes melee attacks occur during gameplay, time slows down and you can rotate your camera and find different things in the environment to give you an edge. These can range from dodging a punch or grabbing an improvised weapon for example
