The Order 1886 Gameplay Footage

I have a PS4 with no games except Resogun... and this isn't selling me.
Still interested in the setting so we'll see.

I'm on the complete oposite side, I'm playing my PS4 like no other console in the launch period in the past 2 decades.

But I don't mind games that are not shooters, like indies. Actually I'm getting a better experience from them than AAA games.

Of course I'm playing still playing CoD, Battlefield, KZ and TR. Still getting MGS and Infamous...

I'm in the too many games side, probably the only one.

I am too. I have a bunch of games and I've been playing it regularly. Just this week I bought Rayman Legends, Strider, and Tomb Raider DE.

You're not the only one, currently playing BF4 MP, Killzone, Resogun, and Outlast. Looking forward to Thief next week, and I'm looking to buy Tomb Raider: DE soon.

Same here. The PS4 curbed my addiction to League of Legends. Playing through Tomb Raider right now. Getting Strider. Then Infamous is next month. The Child of Light in April.

Extremely poor first showing.

Great graphics but minimal gameplay. I want to see big gun fights, more enemies, good ai and their physics system. They should have waited for e3 and shown a proper demo

I think Sony put them under the gun this time. As in, release a video now, before Q1 ends.

We'll see their full vertical slice at E3.

I'm very satisfied. Killzone, Strider, all the PS+ games, Injustice, I beat Knack twice, Flower, Escape Plan, inFamous and Towerfall next month. I'm very pleased.

The setting, the concept of the knights of The Order and this "black water" entity that grants a longer life and of course the supernatural theme is all so intriguing.

I'm interested in the story and can't wait to see how it all unfolds. I think Ready at Dawn are onto a winner here if the writing ends up being as good as I'm hoping.

You aren't alone buddy, me too. Just beat Outlast recently, 440+ hrs in BF4's multiplayer and Second Assault just arrived, Ground Zeros and Infamous:Second Son later next month. PS4's been my number one gaming platform since launch!

Everything other than the gameplay looks amazing and interesting to me in regards to this game. If the gameplay has some nice creativity to at least set it apart from other TPS games, it will be glorious.

Not trying to derail here or be a jerk, but what games made you want to buy your PS4? Resogun is good but its not worth $400.
I'm always shocked when I see posts like this. Why did you buy it in the first place?

It was impulse. I have owned every Sony console but the PSP. I knew I was going to get one eventually, I had the money, I knew when they were going to be in stock, and it wasn't too much of an inconvenience to pick it up.

Me too. I may be addicted to "Don't Starve"...like really addicted. I haven't even touched AC4 after finishing "Outlast".

"The Order" will be the icing on the cake if it comes out after "Destiny"

It doesn't look like the gameplay is considerate of the time period or theme. Maybe they just want to tell their story in a familiar framework.

I was so bored i couldn't even bother finishing watching the video. If this is the future of gaming, i will better prepare a backup of my GOG account.

Yeah, if you got bored after less than 2 minutes and 45 seconds, in a video with tiny snippets of various aspects, there's probably something wrong with you.

I'm also addicted, like very addicted to don't starve. Glad to see that I'm not the only one enjoying the variety of games available on the PS4. My buddies keep giving a hard time because "there's no games to play" and pimp ryse, dr and forza like they're getting paid to do so....... Wait a minute....

I'm looking forward to The order too, I knew it was going to be a third person shooter since the trailer a year back. So I don't mind if I have to shoot things, looks very interesting.

Hopefully the game is not fully optimized yet because it looks and runs like shit.

Such a grotesque lie masqueraded as a statement! I'm pretty sure that had they not insisted on everything running real-time, you would have lead the charge of the incredulous movement...

Same here, I have too many games to choose from.

Do I want to work on my Don't Starve character and base to try and survive beyond the 30 days I have so far? Do I want to tackle Master in Res0gun? Do I want to play some competitive multiplayer in Killzone? Do I want to sail around in Assassins Creed? Do I want to try and beat Very Hard in Knack or complete the Knack collection sets? Do I continue my Warframe addiction? Do I try to finish Outlast without ruining my underwear? Do I adventure around in DCOU as my superhero? Do I play some competitive Blacklight Retribution which is quality?

And now I have to fight back the urge to buy Tomb Raider or Thief or Rayman or plop down what looks like a simple 15$ on Strider.

I mean, complaining about this no games stuff at this point is pretty ridiculous. You have tons of quality products out there to choose from, with tons more coming.

I'm no El Torro, but I gave it a shot.

What really bothered me in this whole trailer is that the "cover" walls are so inconspicuously set up as such. It really takes away the authenticity of their surroundings. You just can't have convenient knee high walls for the sake of compromised gameplay.

Or perhaps i don't want to even watch "Corridors of War XVII: this time it's gray and in 1886". I bet i missed some QTE happening and a final giant explosion.

I was actually excited for Killzone--the graphics whore in me :)

But people I know were all buying the system just so they get a better version of Call of Duty.

People like you blow my mind. You really so close minded to think you will only fight inside the alleys of London?

I guess the first trailer that had them fighting out in a courtyard doesn't matter because we damn sure saw a 10 second gun battle inside an alley and that is what matters! Lol

According to old tweets R@D had a build ready to go at VGX but Sony stopped them.

Does anyone know if this is the same build? If so it's getting on for 3 months old...

Well, that's what they wanted me to see, i didn't fill a module saying "show to me the dullest part of the game" or handpicked a bad moment in a trailer full of awesome.

I don't get why people get hurt about my opinion, that's the worst piece of gaming advertising i've seen in quite a while. "Worst than many games i own already and finished" isn't exactly how i want to be excited about something next gen. Knack's first showing in comparison almost made me preorder a PS4.

I think this reveal was leaning more towards showing that the graphics are as good as what they showed at E3 and less about the variety in gameplay. We know that there is supposedly some amazing physics and destruction, and there are cool things like using morse code to call in air strikes from the airships, there are horror elements to it and the exotic weapons and different enemy types (humans with guns and half breeds that can scale walls and such) are enough to seperate it from just your standard bogged down cover based shooter. My money is on the game being so far away still that they will show more of that stuff leading up to release.

Those types of walls lining stairways aren't uncommon on old buildings in London.

We also have quotes from journalists who saw more of the game that pretty much just back up what we've seen, don't we? Lots of cinematics, lots of boring cover shooting.

You're basically asking us to hold onto hope with nothing to back it up except an incredibly vague trailer.

In the game development does the AI polishing really come so late in the process? Judging by Pessino's twitter the AI is still in a rough state. I am just wondering isn't the tuning of AI earlier in the process more advantageous for well balanced gameplay? I mean, we had a gamepaly video of Last of us one year in advance, and this game will ship in like 8 months? :/

I just listened to Podcast Beyond, and what Colin said was worrying. He said it just didn't seem ready (not nearly as far forward as most games he see's seem at this point) and that a delay wouldn't surprise him..

Didn't Colin also say naughty dog told him that TLOU didn't come together until a month before release?

Why hold out hope when you can just move on to something else?

Yes and its not really late with several months to go,we only know about it because the dev mention it.

Still interested in the setting so we'll see.

And I have a PS4 with Killzone, ACIV, LEGO Marvel, Outlast, Resogun, DCUO, and quite a few more. inFAMOUS: SS, The Order, and Uncharted PS4 are other reasons why I picked up a PS4, regardless of release date.

I don't understand why anyone would buy a console that doesn't have anything they actually want to play on it besides one game. My rule of thumb: A console/handheld has to have at least 5 titles I'm really excited about and interested in before I drop money on it. This rule of thumb has never failed me. I broke that rule once, and I regretted it (I bought an Xbox for KOTOR and Fable, and that was it. Loved KOTOR, was supremely disappointed in Fable)./derail.

On topic, I'm excited as fuck for The Order. I haven't played every TPS out there, so the more high quality ones the better. Off the top of my head, the only ones I've played and enjoyed were Gears series sans Judgment, Uncharted series, inFAMOUS series, and The Last of Us. Hardly genre overkill, especially where quality TPSes are involved.

The Order is still at least 6 months away. They haven't even gotten into final polishing stage yet. The game is still looking great. The only thing I noticed was some framerate issues, but that's the kind of thing that will no doubt be ironed out by release.

haha! 'Hold on to hope*', just find another game to get hyped about.

* Thanks, Obama

I feel like you and other guy are responding to me as I'm personally invested in this or something. I'm saying I'm sick of people trying to defend that game with pretty much nothing to back it up.

Developers should be pushed hard for shitty showings, and any chance I have to voice my frustrations I'm going to voice them.
