The fact he still has his DK64 jetpack is shocking to me.
The Returns Jet Pak looked really dumb, I'm not bothered at all by this.

Well, yeah of course. Those both instances were after they had already been announced.
And I mean, its probably a given that he is informed the week of, or a couple days before. But they don't know weeks in advance, which is when the Diddy shots were most likely taken, Which was the point I was trying to make.
Edit: And I just remembered with the Rosalina trailer, he said something to the extent of "New Direct, you never know when these appear" or something about them being completely out of the blue.

With all those veterans that still need to be announced, I'm only expecting another 2, maybe 3 newcomers.
Pokémon Trainer COULD be on February 27th. That marks the 16th anniversary of Red & Green. If I was to reveal that character, it would be there

Also, May 2 is the NA launch of Kirby: Triple Deluxe. Again, I doubt we'll get anything, but a Meta Knight announcement would be pretty cool.
Keep in mind that this list is also missing Zero Suit Samus.

If there's more, then we're looking at an incredibly large roster, unless he makes a lot of veteran cuts.
Now that I think about it, I guess it's more likely to see more newcomers at the expense of a handful of veterans. Of course, I could be completely wrong and we'll get the vast majority of veterans AND lots more newcomers. I just don't find that to be very realistic. I hope I'm wrong.

I kinda agree. One of the few models I don't think improves on Brawl.

Yeah, I think this is the actual first model that looks "worse" compared to Brawl (to me, of course). He looks fine on the 3DS, though.
Anyway, I will update the comparison picture with Lucario and Diddy once I get my new computer (in a few days). I blew the power supply of my old one yesterday.

I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Ike was cut. I think that Wolf will come back. I certainly hope so because I like playing as Wolf a lot. I don't know what to think about Snake. On one hand, he feels like it was a one time thing. The hype 3rd party character, like Megaman this time around. However, he was very popular in Brawl, so I wonder if they'll keep him around.

My favorite newcomers in Brawl were Lucas, Pokemon Trainer, Snake and Zero Suit Samus. Why is everyone saying the best characters are least likely to return. ;_;

I think all of them will likely return, although I wouldn't mind if Snake was cut. Pokémon Trainer should definitely be cut too, with Squirtle, Ivysaur and the other starter having their own slots (like in Project Melee). The trainer himself is useless.
I disagree with this. I feel that having them all as one character makes them much more unique, and I love switching between them during battle.Because they weren't the best characters

Honestly beyond maybe the clothes he's the first character who looks like they're definitely they're a work in progress. Just looks like they ripped his model directly from Brawl, updated his hands/clothes a tiny bit and gave him a slight amount of the quasi-fur shading DK got.
Going to be even more awkward if Dixie gets in and her model is made from scratch.
