Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

There is only one other DK character I would be okay with gracing the roster.

I honestly don't want any more Kongs but I'm guessing Dixie would be the easiest for them to add since she would just be a diddy clone with a better recovery.

Sure, there's the "fact" that Cranky is the original DK (which Nintendo seems to avoid talking about these days), but Cranky Kong is only a main character in Tropical Freeze. Not only is Dixie also a main character in TF, but she's a main character in Donkey Kong Country 2, Donkey Kong Country 3, and two of the Donkey Kong Land games. Maybe it's because I grew up in the mid-'90s, but Dixie immediately jumps out to me as a more important/iconic character than Cranky.

I really don't think Dixie would share a single attack with Diddy. Nearly everything would utilize her hair.
 
I STILL can't believe Toon Link made it in. I'm the only one I know who uses him as my main and it feels like they threw him in just for me.

I main Toon Link also, but I would have been fine with him leaving, as long as a new, interesting character takes his place.

I still say the Bullet Bill Express should be the SM3DW stage. We've never had a Bowser stage and that would be perfect. They could drive past different areas including a spot where Plessie could appear. They could have Bowser's airship for the 3DS version.
 
An airship level seems like an obvious choice, honestly, considering how often they've been showing up for boss battles and what have you lately. I'd be all over it.
 
You guys realize Sakurai can't keep adding things from new games coming out right? Otherwise this Smash bros. won't ever get finished.

My friend mains him and we always start with a Lucas v. Toon Link battle when we play.

Funny thing is, neither of my mains are announced yet. I had high hopes for Pokemon Trainer to be revealed already.

The lack of a Bowser stage, castle or airship, is one of the most baffling oversights in the whole series. I'm totally on board with the train idea.

The bullet trains were advertised with the game when it was revealed. I imagine Sakurai is somewhat aware of upcoming games before they are released/anounced. Then again Sakurai would've been aware of Galaxy for a while and we didn't get anything related to it.

Does it kinda bother anyone that Toon Link is still using the Hero's Shield and not the blue Mirror Shield? I always thought The Mirror Shield and Master Sword looked so cool together. Oh well.

... Does M2King have any legit info on SSB4? A friend was telling me he claimed during a stream that he knew about Mac beforehand and has hinted at both Mewtwo and being a playtester for the game.

I don't know professional Melee players enough to know if he's obviously joking or not. :T
 
I gotta say though, with characters like Little Mac and Villager we have really covered all the major Nintendo franchises. Nintendo needs to introduce more characters ASAP if they want to keep up with Smash. We're running of material. :P

Hey, I knew about Mac beforehand as well. And I think Mewtwo can happen due to his prominence in X/Y. Does that make me a guy with info as well?

The characters are there, it's just that no one cares about them.
 
Is it weird that the thing that skyrocketed my hype today was not a veteran being confirmed but rather seeing the pre-order cards in person at target? I've said it before and I'll say it again, the thing that would honestly raise my hyper more than any veteran or newcomer is A RELEASE DATE!!!!!

I'm pretty sure he's not a play-tester for the game. I remember him saying that he wanted to be one, though, and later saying he had someone who could get him hired at Nintendo; perhaps you heard a rumor formulated by this?

I just gotta say I hate Funky Kong so much. To me, only Kiddy Kong beats him in worst Kong designs in the DKC series. There's just something about his design that I just can't stand.
Only time I was ever able to tolerate him was in DK64

Haha for me Funky Kong is the only tolerable design to come from the (original/Rare) DKC series.
