Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U Thread 5: Yarning for Yoshi

obviously fake
this is Nintendo

This actually happened with Pokemon X/Y, a dude at Digipen who was a playtester told this one dude about a few new things (mainly Fairy-type, Sky Battles, Kanto Starters, and some other assorted Pokemon) and he leaked it through a Pokemon Fansite.

Okay, so nobody but me would get it, especially since it was a Genesis game and not a SNES one, but still

We could have these shmucks instead:

look at the wackiness, LOOK AT IT.

yes but TPC is far better about this than Nintendo itself

I could see Funky as a potential DK clone, but they wouldn't add him before Dixie or K. Rool. Every rumor we've seen so far has been fake, so don't buy into it.

I STILL can't believe Toon Link made it in. I'm the only one I know who uses him as my main and it feels like they threw him in just for me.

It surprises me people are so shocked that veterans are returning. Even more so that people were shocked Toon Link was back. He's been one of the most used Link designs and still had plenty of use after Wind Waker with the DS entries.

The only thing I find weirder than people assuming they'd just casually axe half of Brawl's roster is people who get angry that most if not all veterans are returning.

Haha for me Funky Kong is the only tolerable design to come from the (original/Rare) DKC series.
At least you know better than to QUESTION THE FUNK.

technically we're talking about namco-bandai here

Now that I've finished Wonderful 101... Wonder Red could have a fucking amazing moveset and is perfect for Smash Bros.

My new most wanted character.

I'm so torn on which game I should pick up next, my budget is extremely tight and I have to be pretty choosy with my video game selections. Wonderful 101, pikmin 3 or DKC:TF? HELP!!!!!

If your budget is tight, you can probably find Wonderful 101 for $39.99 or less with some digging. Totally worth it.

Pikmin 3 is really fun too, but I'd recommend W101 over it. Still worth owning for Wii U.

Just started DKC:TF. Only one world in, loving it so far, but hard to judge considering how little I've played.

Buy Wonderful 101. And that goes for everyone who owns a Wii U.

Thanks for the opinion! I have seen a couple people say that W101 isn't for everyone though, would you recommend renting it first? Or are there any games it is comparable to?

Definitely Donkey Kong. Then get Pikmin 3.
Both are amazing games.
Get 101 when it $5.

TW101 is great, but... Try the demo several times before you buy. I think DKC is the safer bet, and still cost-effective at $50.

Of those three, Wonderful 101 is the best, and probably the best bang for your buck.

If you've played other action games (Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising etc) and enjoyed them, and you enjoy over the top scenarios and wacky humour (Kid Icarus Uprising kinda stuff) then you should like it.

I updated the comparison pic, now with Lucario and Diddy Kong as well, if anyone is interested:

Nice work. :)

I think you should include Little Mac, too. Just put an AT in the bottom right of Brawl to make it clear that he was an Assist Trophy, though.

... Does M2King have any legit info on SSB4? A friend was telling me he claimed during a stream that he knew about Mac beforehand and has hinted at both Mewtwo and being a playtester for the game.

I don't know professional Melee players enough to know if he's obviously joking or not. :T

Yeah, few people claimed that he was being serious but I think he was joking around.

Nice job!

Alleged Gamefaqs leak Smashboards cannot apparently debunk, lol.

I would main that.

Playing a bit of Melee, I just pulled off the Sacred Combo against my brother. I'm a bit dizzy.

I love Melee's weight and momentum. It always feels great.

Get 101 first, it's a fantastic game & offers much more bang for your buck.

the only incorrect answer

I'm not interested in DKCR:TF, so I can't comment on that, but Wonderful 101 is definitely deeper than pikmin 3, and offers more "bang for your buck" as it was put.... if you're willing to put the time and effort in.
Because it's hard as nails and you don't get the true experience until you've already completed an entire playthrough and restarted it properly.
The only replay value in pikmin is trying to get platinum medals, which are all rather easy in the base game, and I didn't care enough to really try any of the DLC.

He could be so awesome, and I feel like the character is something that is right up Sakurai's alley as far as what he looks for in a character. It sucks that he probably won't be in, because he absolutely should be.
