Zapdos only gets thundershock/thunder and drill peck in gen 1 to start, so he'd actually be able to consistently destroy things.

Snorlax is good and all but it'd be another normal type. We're going to have a hard time with Bruno and Agatha if we go snorlax over zapdos.

Going for Zapdos is way harder.
