Oh man, I remember the Brawl midnight launch I went to... back when I actually still went to GameStop (so young, so stupid). There was a huge line and a small tournament that took place at 12:01am, it was actually pretty exciting. I didn't stay for that, though; I was too eager to get home and tear into my own copy!

I didn't have a midnight launch anywhere near me for Brawl. In Canada, Nintendo games don't get midnight releases.

Hitman games do, though.

Anyways, I remember getting up at 5:30am and going to Wal-Mart in a blizzard. Played for 14 hours straight with no food unlocking every character, stage and music.

The thing that's made me suspect that we're getting it sooner than we think - the weirdness surrounding Melee at EVO this year. Nintendo being idiots again was certainly the easy answer. But if they're not being idiots- it probably means Smash 4's at EVO.

I remember that, too! We got at least three feet of snow, so my brother and I had to trudge through waist-deep snow just to go pick up our copy of the game. (Schools were closed for about three days, though, so it meant that we got to play the hell out of Brawl while we waited for the snow to melt, haha.)

well Brawl was at Evo 2008 and it was released about 5(?) months before, although it hilariously did about half of what Melee did the year before
I think that was more due to items shenanigans though, so unless that happens again, shouldn't be too big of a hassle

we have mario kart's release date, which is may 31st

we don't even have a release MONTH for smash

there isn't a chance in fuck smash drops in spring, or summer. November 21th.
