Yeah it seems like it would require a lot of work for an item (all new animations for every character) but it would be pretty sweet. Especially if they didn't give everyone the same cat suit but personalized them a bit like Ganondorf being a lion or mr game and watch's looking really 8-bit, maybe ice climbers being a snow leopard or Siberian white tiger

Just imagine...Cat Mega Man, Cat Wii Fit Trainer, Cat Sonic, Cat Olimar (even the Pkmin get in on the fun!), Cat Captain Falcon, even Cat Ridley! The world wouldn't be able to handle such an enticing blend of cuteness and epicness in one item.

You forgot female pokemon trainer, or leaf/greenI made this at like 4am last night with some of the possible female newcomers. I wanted to make something Smash-related, and Miiverse doodles can only go so far for hype.
Here's hoping we see at least one of these ladies playable. I didn't include any FE ladies since there's no 3D renders of them - my pick is Anna, since she's a recurring character, but Robin, or Lucina would be cool too.

Yeah I was thinking that sort of art style would work well to represent DKCR/TF. Perhaps there could be a beach level which has 3 versions. During the day the octopus could battle a pirate ship fleet in the background with occasionally them becoming stage hazards, During the night it could resemble the tsunami stage occasionally the players will have get in shelter to prevent the tide from wiping you out, and then during the sunset there would be no stage hazard but the art style would resemble sunset shore.

That's what I want.
I know, in the Debug Mode in Melee, you could change the textures of all the characters to resemble Mr. GW, which could mimic the effect decently, although it wouldn't quite look right. If Sakurai was diligent enough (or perhaps got Retro to help out?) and could give each character one object (Pikachu's cheeks, Olimar's light bulb, Pit's wings) that stood out and were lit up, that'd be AMAZING.

How would that work? Would it be a transitioning stage where it changes during the match? Or would you have to select which particular transition you want to start off with? Either way it sounds good

Actually, a level based off the level in Returns where Squiddicus the Octopus is breaking apart the ships platforms and moving them around constantly would be pretty nifty.
I can totally see this happening. It seems like the kind of imagery that would be appealing to Sakurai. And of course, (Tropical Freeze spoilers)

well each character so far has their own color. Even though it wouldnt do it justice they could just have the edges of the characters silhouette glow their own specific color
It's fair to say all the major franchises will have at least one new stage each.
