Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 3: Return of Red... Aussies win again!

Same for metagross :(

Metagross hits like a tank so he doesn't really care.
Bronzong's shtick was defensive support which is ruined by having guaranteed, effective counters by way of two fairly common types.

I mean, aegislash would have been completely overpowered without the nerf but as a steel fan I am still sad.

Man, TPP made me dig up all my games, including HeartGold, Diamond, and Black, and man...my pokemon are just gone. I don't know where they are. It's a real bummer. Like, it says I have a pokedex of 256, but I have like 10 pokemon in my box.

In the later games, the pokedex number was how many you saw, not caught.

Just been catching up with this. Just saw the video of the Zapdos capture. If I didn't see it with my own eyes I'd have said it was impossible. How it didn't get to run, I'll never know.

Maybe they should stop power creeping the game instead.

So through the use of a few tools to export & convert pokemon from Gen 1 up to Gen 5, and then through the PokeTransporter and Pokemon Bank, I managed to get the team from Twitch Plays Pokemon into my Pokemon Y save.

Sample:

Zapdos' take down and one of Omastar's moves were illegal in modern pokemon, so they were replaced. Otherwise everything is as in TPP.

Wow awesome. how does that work exactly getting in the game? Idk if that type of talk isn't allowed tho

If you gan rip your Pokémon Black/White/2 save (if you have a flashcard you can download a save file ripper to backup your save) you can then use Pokégen to add the .pkm files (Pokémon) into your party/boxes. You then just save that file in Pokégen and use the same save ripping program to write the save back to the cart.

It's easier if you've ripped the ROM though, can just get the .sav right off the flashcard and pop it back. Once the Pokémon are on a Gen 5 cart (white/2 etc) then you can just use Pokébank to get them onto X/Y and into future games.

Actually, uploading the pkm files and then downloading them via wi-fi on that Pokegts website is a hack free alternative.

Hey guys where is the best summary of this whole phenomenon. Preferably a video? Like how were they able to get past Mt. Moon and the Safari Zone etc.

Setting my alarm to get me up in time for the start of the new game. I haven't played gen 2 before, so I'll likely just keep my "help" to battles.

Oh yeah. completely forgot about that way. Never used it because when I was doing this stuff with the DS Lite I couldn't get on my Wifi because it doesn't like good security. Always had to do it the roundabout way with .sav editing.

I could do it that way now with the 3DS though but honestly forgot about it lol. Would've saved some hassle lol.

Really fucking wish the streamer could filter out anarchy/democracy from the chat. Its annoying and makes the chat impossible to read.

Whoops. Forgot about the DS's issue with certain securities. Now it's omastar turn and then to poketransfer them all. :D

I don't know if it's been mentioned, by I'm trying to imagine how hard will it be to coordinate day/night cycles with the time it actually takes us to go from one place to another. Say we want something that's available at night but the time it takes to get there, the sun will rise.

Probably should reboot for the new game, yeah.

I dont see why, its the same channel doing the same "twitch plays pokemon" stream, only we're attempting Gen 2 now. It would make more sense to do it if the title of this thread was "twitch plays pokemon red" or something.

It's the same channel with the same set-up but a different game. It's pretty much a sequel and sequels generally get their own threads.

What'll be the new thread subtitle?
Twitch Plays Pokémon 2: Going for Gold?
Electric Boogaloo?

And yeah, new thread for new news so new thread for new game. Makes sense to me.

So how many of you guys have been watching the first season of Pokemon on Netflix today? Been watching the first few episodes with my little brother (up to Cerulean) since I've been on a Pokemon craze these last few days.
