Well, there's some Gen 2 mons sprinkled in there, but I get what you're saying.
Caves are still full of Geodudes and Zubats (and later on, Gravelers and Golbats), and Tentacool still run rampant in the seas.

It's sadly chat that's going to drive me away from this... They want this to be TPP 1.1 instead of TPP season 2... if they shape the narrative the way they want, it's just going to be more helix worship with a different coat of paint.
Thank you, though there wasn't any reason to give me credit since others have tossed the idea around. I hope the general populous comes around... It doesn't HAVE to be military themed, but damn it needs to be something besides what round 1 already was.

This annoyed me more than anything. Umbreon aside, pretty much every Dark type could only be caught after getting to Kanto.
Crystal kind of fixed things by letting you get Sneasel in Ice Path, but still.
Speaking of Geodude, we're going to need to catch one and run over the game with it.
There's just 100 new ones and a bunch of them are evolutions of old families or legendaries.
A lot of the ones that aren't evolutions are pretty rare though. See: Murkrow, Sneasel, Skarmory and Gligar, Slugma, Misdreavus...

That just reminded me, Sneasel is available in Ice Path in Crystal. We should totally get one.

Looking at the Gift Pokemon, they're guaranteed to pick up some decent stuff.
-A Spearow in Goldenrod (you're supposed to give to a Trainer for a TM, but you can keep it).
-An Eevee in Goldenrod (likely to become an Espeon/Umbreon)
-Dratini (after the 8th Gym; probably too low-leveled to do much with by they time they get it)
-Togepi (Ok, it's crap basically.)
-Shuckle (Given to you by some random dude; you can choose to give it back or not. Kinda meh, IMO.)
-Tyrogue (In Mt. Mortar...yeah, no point in going in there and dealing with that mess.)
-Odd Egg (From the Daycare; could either be a Pichu, Cleffa, Tyrogue, Igglybuff, Smoochum, Elekid, or Magby with Dizzy Punch and a chance to be Shiny)

Yes, but for what it's worth someone on Reddit claimed that during one of our frequent checks of the pokedex they saw Chikorita as having a location marked. Which would mean we're playing a ROM hacked with all pokemon available.
The streamer wanted to do the same for Red but he mucked it up and all it changed is adding a little 151 to the title screen, but he may have done it this time.
Which would mean Omanyte catchable.
It's amazing how Eevee is actually a really good idea for this run.
