Heh. Just wanted to post that I am now one of those dad's who had their kid buy something off their playstation without the TV screen even being on. Just got a receipt for Master Reboot in my email. Luckily i hopped right on chat support and they will process a refund.

Had a weird feeling today so I went to my regular game store...

and found both Dangan Ronpa and a blue Hori game case I've been desperately looking for

So Pixeljunk Monsters and Smart As both seem pretty good. Looking like the best PS Plus month for Vita since December.

Smart As is a criminally slept on Vita game, especially considering it's a system exclusive that never gets counted or listed for anything. Yes, it is their attempt at Brain Age, but I've never been one of those people who refers to every entry in any genre as a clone.

Speaking of games I will nicely not refer to as a clone, what's the 411 on Vita Pets? Haven't seen hide nor hair of it since the trailer with the voices that had everyone going "lolwut"

Is that the not-Nintendogs game with the talking animals? I'm still recovering from that "lolwut" trailer.

That's the one. My "lolwut" only lasted a couple hours... when I went back and watched it, I was like "screw it, it might be fun and it's a Vita game, and we'll never get Tokyo Jungle proper"... then it was my underdog for the week.

Is there a new process for switching accounts on Vita? Or is it the same? Anyone have a good reference I can check out so I make sure I don't screw something up?

Man, I recently got an external hard drive finally (lost too much stuff too many times), and decided I could concede to deleting a few game bubbles from my Vita. So of course I deleted stuff that's collected dust for awhile.

When I went to copy the Need for Speed physical bubble back over, in order to transfer the save data into the cheap digital copy a lot of us bought yesterday, I couldn't find it anywhere... and I know damn well I transferred everything on all 3 of my memory cards. Rayman Origins was there the other day, so I don't know what the deal is, but it doesn't look like hardly any physical game bubbles backed up any of their tiny sub-100kb data files. Threw the game card in, too, just to make sure in case the save was stored on the SD card. Nope.

So Need for Speed has no save data anymore, and since I haven't been subbed to PS+ since December, I have no cloud to restore it with. It's really not a big deal with this game, but just another example of how saves being inseparable from game data is stupid, and that I wouldn't have even been deleting and restoring anything on my 64GB card in the first place, if it wasn't for the 100 app limit.

Yes. I don't know why they do have separate save datas on the PSP but decided to change it for the Vita. If something works well, why the hell you change it? That 2000 model 1GB would have been really nice for keeping all your saves if you have different memory cards.

I like you.

If they exist, i'm 80% sure they'd be PS3 (or 4)/Vita games. I don't think Square is going to let Sony get it as an exclusive on the Vita. Because we all know how well Vita exclusives sell in the West, right?

Killa, you're part of the problem. Buy and play Tearaway, damn it!

Come on, it didn't look that bad. Talking animals are cool, you haven't seen Disney films?

The adventures aspect looked decent though.

The talking animals in Disney movies are usually cartoony in appearance. The Vita Pets dev went for a more realistic style, so the voices seem completely out of place.

For some reason it isn't on the Vita store. Just confirm the purchase on the webstore. That's what I did. It's free there.

Yeah, webstore wasn't working for me, but I solved it by just logging out and in again.
Download is really slow, though, so maybe something is up with the store at the moment.

Some of these Songs on normal in Project Diva f are annoying. I keep pressing the notes early by mistake since I get into the rhythm and it feels like there should be notes where I'm pressing >:l

Yeah, I just shopped it as a joke. Is it not allowed here?

It's because every song has a different BPM. In other rhythm games that I have played, you can control the speed the notes come down.

Yep, that's one of the reasons why Hard mode actually feels easier at times.

I've put quite a lot of hours into Ridge Racer so far and its pretty good. If that game just had enough content and a better framerate it would be legitimately great. I'm addicted to racing ghosts, its caused me to really up my game. I'm getting some of the best track times I've ever got, but of course things like slipstreaming and the perks loadouts contribute to that. Its a very fast game. My average MPH per lap is usually in the 190s and on laps when I've used lots of nitrous I've seen my average in in the 210s. So needless to say its a pretty difficult game compared to other Ridge Racers since it requires better reaction times.

I wish there was a way to step out of the ghost races and not lose the ghost you're grinding against though. Sometimes it will take me 5 or 6 tries to beat a ghost and to do that I can't load into any other apps because if I quit out I'll lose the ghost!

Then I started thinking about how its kind of morbid racing ghosts all the time and in the story of Ridge Racer4 that one racer had died previously and they should make a sequel to R4 where you're in heaven racing ghosts for all eternity.

Yeah, I dunno, man. I'd say they planned it as a way to prep for PS+ cloud storage reliance, but I'm pretty sure cloud saving was also an answer to complaints about saves not being separate from games, and not premeditated.

It's gotta be some way to bury all the game data in an airtight package for piracy reasons, and keep potential exploits to a minimum. Whatever it is, it sucks. No 100 app limit, and I wouldn't have to worry about it. Cheaper memory cards, and other people wouldn't have to worry either.

Love/Hate relationship.

So I have been playing Ys: Memories of Celceta, my first Ys game, since yesterday and I am really liking it. The start was a little bit boring like in every JRPG. The handholding, shitty music in Casnan (whereas everywhere else the music rocks), really bad animations and limited controls didn't help making a good first impression. Especially the last aspect is annoying. Please use the second analog stick of the Vita developers, we aren't 3DS/PSP peasants. The loading times are also too long.

After the game opened up I couldn't stop playing. The exploration is really motivating and the combat is just fun. Using the skills gets natural fast, my only problem right now is guarding, because I like dodging more.
The fully customizable controls should also be praised, even though I went back to the default settings after playing around with it. Just having the possibility is nice.

Looking forward to what will happen in the game.

Question at German/European GAF: Is Pixeljunk Monsters not for free for you as well (when buying via the VITA)?

Yes, it isn't free. Our store team wasn't that good to begin with but they have dropped the ball the last weeks. The webstore works.

After the game opened up I couldn't stop playing.

That's how it was for me. Once I got into the open field and the amazing Ys music started playing I was like "yusssssss, this is gaming"... but sadly, I did get distracted and need to go back to it.

I beat 3 games in the last couple weeks and feel like I'm on a roll. Is this the year I finally topple my backlog once and for all?

I thought it was real so please stop shit like that or at least spoiler tag that it was fake.

I couldn't say if it's allowed but it's certainly in very poor taste.

Project DIVA F 2nd actually adds high speed as a challenge item. As of the October demo it was not very configurable, and combined with shy target, is just hilariously difficult. I linked the video a few pages ago, but here's a direct link to where I try the ill-advised combination of challenges.

I see.

Hoping they improve that in PDf 2nd. I really need to control the speed of songs as I prefer them being faster. BUT NOT THAT FAST!

I got a question. The things that unlock when you finish the song, are they exclusive to that song difficulty and does your score affect the rewards you get?

Wait there were new Vita-related annoucements recently?

What were they?
It was mainly the EU sale, some few game announcements and the Demon Gaze demo on March 25. I'm not sure but Akiba's Trip 2 will be localized I guess.

Here Xseed announced it in their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152004634383354

Depends on the unlock. Some unlocks are tied to specific songs, difficulties, and/or which character you happen to be using. There are lists on the Internet somewhere that track what exactly is necessary for each unlock, I'm sure.

The clear type (Standard, Great, Excellent, Perfect) has an affect on how many DIVA points you earn, and achieving a certain clear level is certainly in the requirements for specific unlocks.
