And there's still the Orchid Seed version to consider as well. Neither my wallet nor my shelf space is ready.
On an unrelated note, I finally got around to unboxing my Dizzy; she's going to be a work figure until I get more shelves at home.

I've got Tharja from N-Y, and from AmiAmi I have Dark Angel (Waifu) Olivia, Risty, Hatsune Miku2020, and Melda Dietz. I also have a redjuice (Beatless, Guilty Crown, Vocaloid) artbook on order from cdJapan, the second half of Robotics;Notes blu-ray from Best Buy, and various other non-otaku items to pick up this month, so yeah, fuck March. Luckily I'll be paying for Dark Souls II and the guide in store-credit at Gamestop.
But this is all worst-case... there's the possibility that Miku and Tharja may be delayed again.
I might pass on Sorceress, and Elf for that matter. I haven't pre-ordered Amazon yet, and I might just grab Orchid Seed's version of Sorceress [whenever it comes out] as my Dragon's Crown figure and leave it at that. These are expensive for what they are, although Elf [and her pose] is nice.

Not for this brave little toaster. I have Miku and Olivia, and that's it. And that's assuming neither gets delayed.
After that, it's Snow Miku Nendo and Satan and my obligations are finished. Oh yes, and Lum; she's an insta-buy.
Just have to resist the impulse buys at this point; might actually set my home server to IP ban AmiAmi to insure I stay solvent.

I have avoided Amazon for figures ever since I read the OP about being careful of fakes. Did not have a clue you could preorder on there too.

She's not shipping alone, so at least the damage there is mitigated. Though I expect shipping to be quite severe depending on how many figoos actually ship. I might end up asking them to split it into two boxes.
Also, Hahaha. After all that complaining you did about the color scheme, you ended up caving on Olivia anyway.

Amazon isn't as big and evil as johnsmith pretends it is. Just don't buy any figures on there unless it says "Ships from and Sold by Amazon", or at least "Fulfilled by Amazon". Since Amazon only has legit stuff on-site, if it says either of those, you know it's the real deal. There are a few 3rd party sellers I can personally vouch for, though. Animewild and Toywiz being a couple of them.
If it's sold by Amazon you have nothing to worry about. They are 100% legit. Amazon sells most of Kotobukiya's stuff. Lots of Bandai and Square Enix stuff too. I wouldn't preorder though. It's at msrp right now, but they'll drop the price after release.

I think if it's sold by Amazon it should be common sense that it's legit. Didn't think I needed to point that out. Not sure if "fulfilled by Amazon" is proof it's legit though. 3rd parties can ship stuff to amazon's distribution centers and could sneak in bootlegs that way. I doubt the warehouse workers are knowledgeable enough to spot bootlegs.

I've never had an issue with anything "Fulfilled by Amazon". You wouldn't have to worry about bishoujos regardless, since those don't get counterfeited anyhow. But I think Amazon takes their reputation seriously enough to educate themselves about the quality of the items they're shipping to people. If you disagree, that's fine, but I haven't had any bad experiences with them yet.
I haven't had any bad experiences either, but all I've bought are bishoujos. But I'm not being paranoid. Amazon just does not have the expertise that mandarake would. If the box looks good, and it doesn't look like total crap they'll sell it and ship it. Plenty of people warn about Amazon. Fulfilled by Amazon is nowhere near the guarantee that Sold by Amazon is.

If you complained I'm sure you could get your money back and they'd shut the vendor down. But lots of people can't tell they got ripped off, and do you want to go through the worry and trouble?

Of course not, but if I have any reservations at all, I simply don't place the order. I mean, I'm not going to order a figure for $400 from an Amazon seller called "good export japan". Or even, as reliable as it sounds, "JAPAN JAPAN JAPAN". XD
Avoiding bootlegs mostly just comes down to being cautious and aware.

depends. It depends on the size of the other figures. Nendos and figma? easily yes. Small boxed figures like alter rise? yes. GSC miku racing? hellllll no

I'm getting a ton of stuff that month, so I'm not sure if it's worth ordering from Amazon instead of AmiAmi. I think that ultimately I'll just cancel some of the other figures I have pre-ordered later in the year so I don't piss them off too much.

Wow, he doesn't even wait until the second paragraph to get pervy. But overall it's not as creepy as some of the AmiAmi reviews I've read.
I've never found shipping multiple figures to be a way to save money. The costs just go up as you add more stuff to the shipment and it gets heavier. For me the cheapest way has always been to ship single items through sal unregistered.
That sonofabitch made me feel dirty for ordering Nimue.

Nimue was definitely the worst/most perverted of the reviews from them I've read. I pre-ordered Nimue because she's adorable but, after reading that review/preview...
I'm still getting her, and I'm excited to do so, but the content in the preview definitely made me uneasy.

Man, I can't decide. That face looks so meh.
I like her the best out of the three. Alphamax's is way too top heavy and I'm not a fan of the pose Orchid Seed chose.

As nice as she is, I think I'm going to try to wait for an Amazon price drop on this one, or at the very least free Prime shipping. 6430 is pretty high for a Bishoujo.
All I have ordered for September is Mammon and Sorceress but Mammon alone is probably going to cost around $150 including shipping.
