After seeing infamous this game really looks jarring and then to think they announced it with these beautiful graphics.

Better next time stop lying. I won't buy it anymore for sure.

Many people are not fully aware that 99% of Second Son gameplay is shown at night setting with wet and reflective roads and a lot of glowing particles covering a half of the screen. When the sun rises, the streets are dry and Delsin go walking calmly through the city we can compare which has better visibility in the distance, better polygonal detail, better shadows, better vegetation, better physics, better animations, more people in the streets, etc.. At the moment I think there are too many unfair comparisons because how awesome Delsin movements in the air are.

Awesome you bring this up. The first gameplay footage shown of Second Son was during day time.

Go into Steam and look at the Stats section. Look at how much of the user base has generic Intel graphics cards, and how much have decent AMD or Nvidia cards. Hint: almost everybody has SHIT pcs.

Yes, but at the same time, they do not need to sell 70 million copies to make a nice profit. Just look at the minimum specs for this game:

-Supported OS: Windows Vista SP2 64bit, Windows 7 SP1 64bit, Windows 8 64bit
-Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0Ghz
-RAM: 6 GB
-Video Card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 with Shader Model 5.0 (see supported list)
-Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible Sound Card
-This product supports 64-bit operating systems ONLY

Ubisoft don't realize the grave they've dug for Watch Dogs, do they? I know its PR and all, but people won't take kindly to more bullshit after this, and it's clearly bullshit.

Minimum specs aren't exactly supporting the argument of focusing on high end PCs so that came development isn't inhibited by less capable hardware.

Not everyone can afford a PC for gaming. Not everyone wants to build a PC for gaming. Not everyone wants to spend money on parts every four months or so.

Consoles are typically targeted at those people. It's fine.

Pretty sure you can get a PC that's at least comparable to consoles at the same price. And this is a very conservative estimate - enthusiasts will insist you can do better for that money. A $150 card and a decent CPU can already perform better than an Xbox One on Titanfall

I think people saying this game looks awful are exaggerating; it certainly looks good and "next gen" for what it's worth. I'm upset that Ubisoft purposely miguided us into thinking the game was much more of a graphical powerhouse than it really is. It looks good and had we not been promised impossible visuals from the initial reveal, then this backlash would not exist. And it's not like it's a minor visual downgrade -- it's an extreme downgrade from everything they had shown at demos, shows and presentations.

That is assuming that the footage we have seen is indeed the PS4 version. (I don't that that's been confirmed yet, right?)

You can be right without perpetuating hyperbolic bullshit about PC gaming/gamers.

More companies should take the CD Projekt RED philosophy of having a foot in each world. High end performance for the loyal PC base, a commendable port of a notable game for the other folks.

Everyone gets a piece of the pie.

So are the shots and videos on the Amazon page of Watch_Dogs representative of the final product?

Wouldn't this be false advertisement?

Unless I'm missing something crazy obvious, this is what they show at the end of the trailer:

There are no other console boxes at the end of the trailer. That would lead me to believe it's 360 footage.

As has been said, that same trailer exists in other forms, with different boxes shown at the end. The specific trailer that leaked was for the 360 dashboard, so of course they'd only show off the 360 box.

Come on that's bullshitting hard.

I have had my GTX580 and i2500k for almost 3 years and never touched a single part o fit. I still can play most games in 1080p and highest settings and 60fps.

What is the source of that gif?

That scene doesn't appear on the last trailer...

And... if it is... what versions are you comparing?

Ubisoft should just release another trailer and show of better looking bits of their game.
Shouldn't be a problem if it looks so good.

I guess rainy weather, wet roads and more atmospheric evening lighting should already make a huge difference.

Or show a bit where aiden walks past a sideroad and you see wind coming out, blowing some trash around and realisticly moving his coat.

Public relations and event manager.

She's doing her job...

I also feel for them. But as said no one forced them to oversell the game way back in 2012. They can so rectify the situation by putting out more media showing why we might be wrong.

Got a feeling it'll be going into lockdown mode soon.

I'll wait for lightly compressed gamersyde footage before making a judgment. That footage from the gamespot video is pretty poor quality.

If the game looks different, I think it's quite possible that it may be from a PS3 or Xbox 360 build rather than a PS4 build. I think the downgrade is for the Xbox360 and PS3 versions. I doubt that downgrade is for the PS4.

Yes, because the majority of PC owners or people who exclusively play consoles are interested in all the factors of building a PC.

I was one of the shit spec statistics on Steam until I finally convinced my folks years back that changing the GPU wouldn't kill their remade Dell XPS. Now I'm back to shit specs with my 15 in oldie Mac book Pro, where even Amnesia makes it a struggle to run.

I don't get how people ignore the reasons or don't understand why so many folks have shit specs or consoles. Same with how much of GAF approaches games isn't the same as probably the majority of people.

I don't know quite enough about pc building to be able to say "yes" or "no" to this. I think it's been shown a few times that either way, you can get pretty damn close, provided you already have some of the needed things like the keyboard, mouse, etc.

However, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Ubi have a history of releasing unoptimized games for pc? If that's true, then even if you had a rig with comparable specs to next gen systems, wouldn't Watchdogs not run as well as it does on consoles? Not a troll statement, I'm genuinely curious.

We have seen night time gameplay for this game. Also, way to reduce what makes one game look visually impressive and trump up another. Cohesive. The overall aesthetic of this just doesn't look that impressive in this new footage. Sure there is hyperbole, but the general trend seems rather justified. Notice those criticising the visual fidelity of stuff like Ryse, Killzone, Order and even Infamous were far fewer. This game is rightlfully getting panned. Anybody with a decent pair of eyes (and specs if needed) can tell the difference is super obvious. Anyway, we have seen daytime footage of Infamous, just not recent stuff.

I disagree. That PC is not too shabby. If these minimum specs are accurate, then they already excluding the vast majority of PC players with, quote "shit PCs". So yes, minimum specs are supporting that argument.

That's the reason I said 99% and not 100%.

I really want to wait both final versions to make comparsissons. At the moment I am not able to understand how one of them is "so amazing" and the other is "so disappointing". When I think both are technically very similar.

Did you watch any of the live streams for SS yesterday ? Because I'm baffled how anyone can be confused about the reactions.

SS looked incredible.

Some needs to post the sunrise fog gif.

Suckerpunch, like most Sony studios are no slouch. SS is very impressive from a technical view. Yes, even during the day.

I remember the E3 reveal for this. It was continuously touted as "game of the show."

Now with the delay and the "downgrade" I have a feeling the game will never live up to the original hype, even if the gameplay is stellar.

It's PS4 footage. Confirmed by Sony.

I think he is thinking focusing too much on the nuts and bolts. They might have similar components, but they certainly don't look the same.
