Borderlands 4 Confirmed $70 - Pre Orders Available

Does this include the spyware?

Also, did anyone else notice they were practically giving the old games away? Or probably still are

Nice little scheme there to collect your data ASAP.

Screw this company. Rather shave my balls with the wife's razor than entertain these jokers.

I swear Randy is retarded.

Why the fuck didn't he just confirm it's $70 and avoided any controversy?

Oh he considered it 100%

He just saw that he was becoming the target of the pushback and they calculated it would probably cost them more than what that $10 difference would bring in.

Easy shield when pulling back

So if I'm reading this right, you don't get all the story DLC "Season Pass" stuff with the Deluxe Edition like in the past? So he is paywalling more story missions and a new vault hunter behind the Super deluxe Edition at $129?

Looks like story completionist will need to shell out top dollar for this privilege. Even Ubisoft with all their 'Special Editions' don't usually lock story stuff behind a 3rd top tier, just cosmetics.

Fuck Randy "Filthy Thumbdrive" Pitchford.

Every Borderlands has had a $30 DLC expansion pack with another 1/2 of a game, this is no different.

It's called DLC, it comes out later.

Base game is usually massive.

Nooo, Game base prices should increase instead of these predatory deluxe editions and/or microtransactions. I'm guessing it was that 80 dollar comment and the studio probably wanted to avoid that kind of controversy for such a big game.
70 is still too much money for a videogame, especially when we consider that we don't even get the game, just a temporary license to play it.
Ok, enjoy live service and microtransactions and don't complain about them. Because they're much more financially rewarding than singleplayer games stuck at 60-70 for 2 decades now.

I wonder if the backlash to Randy's comments caused 2K to charge $70 and whether Randy accidentally did us a solid, because the original plan may have been $80
I said he was probably talking around the $80 thing to get people riled up so that when it comes out that its $70 people will be like oh ok thats good.

If Nintendo can charge 80 dollars for Mario Kart Rehash #69 and 10 dollars for a intro to the Switch 2, Gearbox can charge 70 for this.
That's the thing though? Both are ass. Why are you justifying Nintendo lmao

$120?! for skins?!

I remember getting mad when companies had "alpha" content of the DLC maps on the discs... If only I would have known it was going to get so so so much worse.

There are no $120 versions.

The $130 version includes 2 additional classes, 2 map regions, additional story + side content, and yes, skins

This IP ended with BL2. Everything that comes after is nothing but a lazy cash grab a la Halo post Bungie.
You played this?

Anyway from what I have watched I want this.
Keep in mind I haven't liked the series since part 2.
If it's all on disc and can be played offline I will double dip on this.

As always, I'll wait until they release the absolute final edition and grab it at the absolute lowest price in a sale.

You just compared murder to the price of a product. Did Ted Bundy's victims have a choice to live or die?

So that retard Randy kicked the hornet's nest for nothing LOL
I knew BL4 was going to be 70, but I still think Pitchford saying what he said was valuable. Just because people don't want to hear it, doesn't make it false.

The industry should indeed start communicating that spending 5+ years on a project staffing hundreds of metropolitan American workers throughout not including support devs is an extremely expensive and risky venture, especially in the modern structure of the market.

Yes, they do need to get their spending in control which is a whole other conversation to be had with the workforce pool, but also, 70 dollars is not going to be sustainable from now to the end of time no matter how much they reign it in.

I think most people would agree if the industry actually began being transparent and showed recipes. But from then outside it's hard to be sympathetic when gaming is reportedly the most lucerative businesses in entertainment.

But it is what it is, the market will support some price hikes...until it won't.

I liked what I saw with this one hoping it'll deliver the same quality experience I had with 2. 3 felt weak (some nice music tho) than prior entries that's for sure. We have the normal version via steam at £60 which isn't too bad, just got to hope it's worth it.

Yes? Use some deductive reasoning and stop being so reactive. I'm obviously not saying it's as bad lol

I'll wait for the 39.99 revision with bugs and patches 6 months later. I got no rush to play the same game but over and over. Me backlog is longer than my lifespan

You two hammerheads need to take reading comprehension courses. This is what I am saying:

Normally when you buy the mid-tier version (base game + $30 Season Pass = $100) this gets you all the story missions they release over the next year or two.

This game is making you buy the 3rd-tier (highest) at $129 to get all the story DLC they will release over the next few years, plus 2 new vault hunters.

*I don't care about the skins and cosmetics this is only referring to playing all the story missions. This is the first time they are locking it behind the most expensive tier (I own all the games).

Super Deluxe is pretty much Base game and 2 season passes. And what you are getting is of comparable value of previous additional content of other Borderlands games.

The more pressing concern is the double DRM more then anything else.

Well thanks for the correction, I honestly read that wall of text they posted and thought the Deluxe had all DLC's, but I'm also a bit retarded.

I also don't care about cosmetics but Deluxe does have " each with distinct areas, new missions, and unique bosses;" which threw me off.

Yeah I'll get this on PS5 if the PC DRM stays

Some of you just want to complain about everything. The $130 version is not for you. You know the base game will be $40 in November + $40 for the upgrade (probably). Its not a big deal at all. You can be a casual Borderlands fan. The end of Aug/early Sept is insane.
