There's this indie platformer with retro Disney inspired visuals. The main character has a straw in his head. I can't remember the name.
Cuphead.

Also I was under the impression this isn't a platformer and you just fight dudes.
I was hoping someone could tell me what game this is:
Back in the day, tech tv use to have a show called Arena (I think) and in it they played a star wars game, it had great multiplayer with light saber fights. Does anyone know what game this is? I think they played it on the OG xbox.
The instant thing I thought of from the description is Masters of Teras Kasi, but that's Playstation 1, so a bit earlier than Xbox. Nevertheless, it's the obvious association for light saber combat that works well on television.
Another possibility is one of the Dark Forces / Jedi Knight series. Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy were on the original Xbox. Only Jedi Academy had online multiplayer, though (Don't know if Outcast had split-screen)
A Japanese wild western game where there were like shadow ninja cowboys, people turned into haystacks or hay dummies attacked me. It was for the PS1.
Game with robots you can program to fight enemy robots using simple tile-style AI routines. See enemy, move left...stuff like that. I think it was on PS1, but might have been PS2.
I've been searching for hours for the name of a DOS game I played in the mid-90s. Although "playing" is a bit of an overstatement, because my 10-year-old younger self didn't have any idea what to do and which buttons to push. It was probably a crappy game, but it still bugs me that I can't find it. What makes searching even harder is that there are so few things that I even remember:
- An RPG or perhaps a medieval adventure game.
- Graphics reminds me a bit of TES: Arena but it looked even "worse", I think.
- First-person
- The HUD had a super simple map with a current location pointer, but nothing else marked.
- The HUD had a thumbnail which displayed the surroundings and the character's body in real time, i.e. it mirrored everything that was seen on screen, but it displayed the character from the front and not the back. So when you walked in first person, the thumbnail displayed the character walking (from the front) and the surroundings moving past.
- The game started in the middle of the woods (but it might have been a demo, so who knows if that was the real starting point) and the main character was alone and aparently without weapons/equipment.
- I don't remember doing anything else than monotonously walking in the pixelated forest, not knowing in which direction to walk and no enemies/NPCs/buildings appeared. It was weird.
- Seriously, was this even a real game?
Thanks for the suggestion. That's not quite it I'm afraid, although the graphics look quite similar. And yeah, I'm quite sure the HUD didn't have a still image of the character's face -- the "live thumbnail" was quite distinct.Betrayal at Krondor comes to mind when you talked about in the middle of the woods, as that game had you in such a place at the beginning, I think. However, the photo of your character shows just the face, not the whole body.
Dreamcast game that I played the demo to death. Driving game but your car can pop out wings and do flips and shit in a huge skate park like environment. Wasn't a racing game.
San Francisco Rush 2049?
There was one for the PS1, I know it had to be rated M or T at least since there was blood. You walked around and kept going through doors to fight these mutant looking things. It was mostly all grey and I'm thinking there were little machines that also attacked you. aybe some sort of lasers? You were in some sort of lab it seemed like.
That's probably all very unhelpful but I'm optimistic.
I wouldn't call it split screen it was almost a SSB set up with multiple characters on the screen.
Thanks though.

no, not that. I want to say it had some sort of mutant enemies and had more of an ariel view like this.![]()

SNES.
It was a racing game, had a distinct soundtrack.
Third level was a night race in the city with the music going "WAH WAH WAH WAH WAAH WAAH, WAH WAAH WAAH WAAAAAAH"
Project Overkill?

There are a few games that fit the bill here: Sounds like Loaded, its sequel Reloaded, Steel Harbinger, Project Overkill, and the port of Crusader: No Remorse.
Just a wild guess. There's a game called Shadow Keep that starts you in a rather large forest. But it doesn't really fit your description.I've been searching for hours for the name of a DOS game I played in the mid-90s. It was part of a commercial DOS game collection cd, so I highly doubt they would've thrown an unfinished game in there. Hmm.
Edit.
- Also, the game had night/day. I remember this bringing out the "never-ending forest" feel even more. I clearly remember walking in the woods in a straight line and the day turned to night and then again to day without me having come across any living thing. The map was probably borderless or something.
Thanks for the suggestion. That's not it either I'm afraid.Just a wild guess. There's a game called Shadow Keep that starts you in a rather large forest. But it doesn't really fit your description.
There were a game a few years back for PC similar to Republique for iOS.
You are a guy in a camera room and try to led a (female?) Character through a enemy base. You can controll cameras and switch angles and stuff like this.
Does anybody know, what game I mean?
I don't know Republique, but the first thing I thought of was "The Experiment".
Thanks for the suggestion. That's not it either I'm afraid.
The more I think about the game, the more memories pop up. Initially I remembered that the ground in the forest was all flat, but now I'm quite sure that it did alter in height somewhat. But afaik there were no high mountains or lakes, or other environmental blockage for walking in a straight line. I'm also quite sure that the HUD had a horizontal compass like the one in TES: Daggerfall
Also, the graphics might after all be more like Daggerfall, than my previously mentioned TES:Arena. Perhaps a bit like Heretic's graphics. Also, the trees and the ground were somewhat similar to this game, I think. (Lots of 'perhapses' and "I thinks' here, heh).
I also remember that the character in the character thumbnail was quite pixelated and had no distinct facial features. However, he did have some sort of armor and his body was drawn in correct human measurements.
Ack, I have a feeling that the game will remain a mystery. Oh well![]()
A game on Genesis/MegaDrive; it was a platformer where you fired slime guns. Any ideas?
Nope. The HUD's character image was not a still/fixed picture. Not Betrayal at Krondor, right?
No Man's Sky, it wasn't E3 though.
Guys a boxing game on Atari, I remember one of the fighter used glasses...
I'm curious what the name of the game everybody was shittin' themselves over from E3, I think it was. It was a space game that was procedurally generated. You could go to all kinds of planets, etc. And I know it's not Starbound.
Help, please!
Nope. The HUD's character image was not a still/fixed picture.
Global Gladiators?
Yeah, it wasn't Stonekeep I'm afraid. But thanks for the suggestion.Based on your previous description of the character image I somehow came up with Stonekeep, since it has kind of a rearview mirror - but afaik no forest in that game..
Thanks for the link, I'll look through it!There's an awesome thread about dungeon crawlers, worth a look but I didn't run into the rear view mirror bit, apart from Stonekeep as klaus already mentioned.
Has to be. There was a racing mode in the game, but my friends and I spent all our time in the stunt mode, which is what Benny is talking about.
There was a game I had played on PC forever ago (around 95)
It came on one of those XXXgames on 1 disc sort of deals.
You were either a white or a pink rabbit and the visuals were similiar to the SpyVsSpy/Bonanza bros games.
I don't remember much else because of this one detail about the game.
The sound for it came out of the internal case speaker rather than the regular speakers so there was no way to control the volume. Because of this I never played the game again (too noisy)
If it helps I think the game also came with a ton of wallpapers one being an OJ simpson one where it was a zoomed out overhead view of a car being chased by a ton of cop cars.
Might have been a different disc/collection but It's def from that same memory.
