Does Fat Princess still have an active community?

Vita Slim is getting tempting...
I've got a Lime Green one shipping out (Hopefully) tomorrow and arriving later this week, can't wait! I'm really looking forward to the new form factor and hoping the screen isn't too much of a let down, I do love the OLED.. But the slim is just aesthetically way nicer, and if it's more comfortable to hold that's even better.

Scott pilgrim is really great if you like arcadey beat em ups.

Fat princess is a very fun game. The fun is exponential if you have someone to play with locally or online. My cousins and I love this game.

You can set one PS4 as your "main" PS4 or whatever. On your main PS4, any account on the system can play the games you own. On other PS4's, only your own account can play the games you own.

Yes to Scott Pilgrim, no to Rayman 3. No opinion on the others.

I'd recommend Rain if you're okay with something slower-paced. Its gameplay is kind of Ico-esque, really gorgeous visuals too. I got a little emotional towards the end, loved it.

YES TO ALL

Rain is short but great , Fat Princess is fun but hilarious, Rayman 3 doesnt need introduction and finally Scott Pilgrim i think is a little boring and repetitive but if you like beatem ups you are doing fine.

Cool, thanks for the opinion guys.

Scott Pilgrim is great... buy that.

You spend 2$ on that thing?

Well, at least it looks better than the original Flappy Bird.

Shouldda just played the LBPV version... it's "arcade perfect"

You lose i can asure you that there is some great games on PSM like Yu Nama the Puzzle , Tokyo jungle etc.

Yep, Tokyo Jungle, rymdkapsel, Bike Rider DX, Rock Boshers DX, Life of Pixel, Super Crate Box. Aqua Kitty etc... I've had some good fun with PSM. A lot were free, after I paid for them, though :P just like most things I buy on Vita. Sale or free.

Droppity drop drop drop.

  • Putty Squad (PS4) - Right, so in 1992 you had Putty on a lot of 16-bit platforms, then a sequel Putty Squad on the SNES. This looks like a remake of that sequel, which also came out for the Amiga (yes, the Amiga) like three months ago. That in itself is kind of amazing, no? The Amiga in December and then the PS4 a few months later. Crazy. Anyway, as you might have guessed, this is about a ball of putty. It has special putty abilities, and something something. Not going to set the world on fire, but what are you going to do while your hot new PS4 is sitting around waiting for actual new games? This one is listed as retail-only, which is kind of mind-boggling in this day and age. (Not interested, even if I still had an Amiga.)
  • TowerFall Ascension (PS4) - First ports of Amiga games, now ports of Ouya games. The PS4 is really rocking now, ain't it? Anyway, this is a local multiplayer combat game that's coming out on the PS4 and PC this week. (It's listed on Steam.) It is pretty well-liked, and was apparently considered a good Ouya game when it came out. Doesn't appear to have network for multiplayer, so have friends ready to join in. Digital only, of course (Kind of interested, but will probably wait for hypothetical PS+ version.)
  • Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky (PS3) - This is the 15th game in the Atelier JRPG series which launched almost 14 years ago on the PS1. As we all know, Japanese games aren't really my thing, so I'll let the regulars in this thread field questions about this one, but I take it that the game centers on a fantasy alchemy system in which items are created from other component pieces. The story follows from the previous game, which was set four years before this one. Digital and retail. (Not interested.)
  • Dark Souls II (PS3) - Ah, now here's a game I might be interested in. It's a sequel to a spriritual successor to a game I kind of enjoyed but never spent enough time with, Demon's Souls. From the humble beginnings on the PS3, to a cultural hit on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, this is now a bona fide big-name release. The game itself is an action RPG set in an open world environment. I'm told it's quite challenging, but I'm sure the masochists will find that thrilling. Also, why can't I get this on PS4? Digital and retail. (I should probably play my free copy of Demon's Souls. Not interested.)
  • Vessel (PS3) - This is a platform game with liquid-physics puzzles that came out two years ago for the PC and is available on Steam for $15. There's even a GNU/Linux port. It's quite well-reviewed, and is often noted for its ingenuity and charm. Kind of wish this were on the PSV...but I say that all the time when I'm playing good indy games. Digital only. (Kind of interested. If it's under $15, might bite, especially if there's a demo.)
  • Fort Defense North Menace (PSV) - Remember a month ago when 8floor brought Fort Defense out on the PSV? Yeah, well, this is like that but more so. Not sure why this isn't a DLC or something instead of a new game. Digital only. (Not interested.)

Eh. No Pinball Arcade PS4 DLC? Nothing for me then. :(

Edit: Also, no PS1 and no PS2. Kind of a dead week in that respect.

Why would I buy a PS4 when I can just play everything it gets on the Amiga?
RIP Smoky

I swear, the Vita print of that game better ship out.

Been awhile since we got any Pinball Arcade on Vita, too, but they did do two table packs back to back, two weeks in a row last time. I'm hoping for a Season 3 pass to pop up (hopefully next month when there's less games to buy), and to actually see the whole season through on the system.

When do ya'll think the Vita Slim will launch in North America? My older brother is jonesing for one big time.

Also in terms of the OLED Vita in the US is there somewhere selling those for less than the standard $200? Any good deals out there?

I believe the Vita Slim is launching with the Borderlands 2 Vita bundle in May.

Ys Seven is a simple but fun Action RPG game. Coming from Oath in Felghana I was a bit bummed that it's not Adol solo, but its presentation, music, dialog and its simple gameplay won me over and am having fun playing through it.
Only 3-4 hours in though so I've got a lot ahead of me, but I find it funny that on Normal the game gracefully offers me all these
synth items
from defeating enemies and item locations.

Will definitely be posting impressions in this thread, hopefully I'll be eating crow once I get my hands on it... I've been a big supporter of the 1000 up until now :p

CowBoom.com - Just make sure you only look for a grade 6 or better rated Vita.

I ordered a grade 7 recently ($124 with free shipping) and it was a brand new unit still in original packing/box.

Also, if you choose to go this route, make sure you google promo codes before ordering.

Need for Speed Most Wanted is $5, should I get it for PS3 or Vita. How is the Vita version?

Vita version's less shiny and spiffy, but still looks good. Has lower density traffic and feels a bit emptier, which can be a good thing if smashing into cars annoys you.

If you want a good game for your Vita, go Vita... if you want the best version, go with PS3. They're essentially the same game, though, Criterion did the port themselves and made only the concessions they had to.

Also, the PS3 version received DLC that Vita never got. Personally, I played it on Vita and had a blast, double dipped on the digital version now that it's so cheap.

I've just bought a Vita slim. They are already out in the UK.

It's awesome and the form factor is a lot nicer. It feels less like a brick and the screen looks great. The PS button, start and select are also a lot more easier to press without looking.

Yeah that's pretty much what I've been hearing, sounds promising.

Would have bought one locally eventually but the Japan only colours are way too good to pass up. Hopefully the O and X button switching doesn't occur in too many games.

VitaGAF, help me out! I need a case.

If this helps... I travel for work a decent amount. I don't necessarily need game storage within the case (if it's there, cool). Safety to the system is my main concern.

I've been checking online and reading reviews, but I'm still not sure which to buy. Do any of you recommend a quality/durable/safe case?

Any news on when the Slim Vita is getting released in NA? My OLED got water in it and has been acting up (like the PS button is constantly being pressed on). Been dying to play my Vita for almost 2 whole months now. Also plan on getting a PS4 by the end of the month so I can remote play MGSV while I'm in school >_>

Gaf pls

Need for Speed Rivals on PS4 is AMAZING. I love Criterion and all, but I think it's way better than Most Wanted. It's like a blend of Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit. There's so much variety in the environments even though it's open world. You can be driving in this snowy mountanous area, go through a tunnel, and then you're driving through the desert. They forsake realism for fun, and it pays off big time. There's also less roads, making races less confusing. It's seriously a FANTASTIC game. On Most Wanted, I hated how you just find cars and then you own them, AND you have to basically play events from every single car to beat the game. There was no sense of progression in the game at all, and it wasn't rewarding. This game has a more traditional campaign and progression system.

Watch there be some really good sales this upcoming week and the week after
I'm not interested in either Call of Duty, Bioshock, or Grand Theft Auto. Fez and Luft are the only obstacles and they come out after or on the same say as FFX HD Vita.

There has been nothing that said the BL2 Vita bundle will be out in May. Not really sure where people keep getting this false information from.

Rivals is much better than Most Wanted in almost every single way. I just wish they'd tone down the cop AI.

Yeah, the pursuits are really cool and high-intensity, BUT there could be a lot less of them. Sometimes I want to just drive around.

Gah, the reviews I've read for TowerFall Ascension really make me want to pick it up day one but I know I would only occasionally get to play it with four players. Maybe slightly more often two player co-op, but I don't know how much replay value the new co-op mode will have.

The is what I personally use: http://bluemouth.com/top-brands/playstation-vita/ps-vita-game-traveller-case-psv140

It's not exactly a hard case but it's got a rather firm outer shell and everything is very well padded. It holds 16 carts in the flap that opens up, the bottom of which is very soft and kind of helps clean a little finger gunk off the system. It also has a small pocket on the top lid that I stash a microfiber cloth in. In addition to that there's a bit of a gap between where the flap rests inside the case and the interior of the case, which is the perfect width for storing a capacitive stylus ;)

Edit: you can seriously hold a lot of crap in this thing

There's also a slimmer version out there that my girlfriend uses but it lacks the interior pocket.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but CoD: Ghosts for PS4 is currently $39.99 on PSN. I don't know how long this discount will be in effect. I couldn't find anything about it online.

I think Most Wanted is way better than Rivals and I played MW on the Vita whereas I played Rivals on the PS4.

As VanWinkle already mentioned, everything you did in Rivals boiled down to a hot pursuit which got annoying fast. I also like the exploration in open world games and Most Wanted's city has much more to offer whereas the city in Rivals seems barebones.

And while the idea of always playing online in Rivals was cool, there wasn't any actual multiplayer mode. Getting others to race you was near impossible as everyone was busy doing their stuff. The only interaction was fucking someone over because you wanted to be a jackass or you played as a cop. In my opinion, the cop campaign is totally boring and sometimes Alldrive is too overpopulated with cops. The Alldrive system itself sucked because they didn't use dedicated servers so you can get shuffled around often when you are right in a race.
Even though the MW multiplayer wasn't perfect, I like it a lot more.

The last hot pursuit of the racer campaign in Rivals was really thrilling though.

Stupid Question. Can you upload psp games to the cloud? When I try to back things up with the content manager, it only lists Vita games.

I preferred MW too. Felt a bit more like burnout paradise, I liked just driving around and looking for speed cameras and jumps, and beating friends times etc. rivals feels too narrow, just pursuits all the time. It is pretty spectacular at times though.

Played MW on both PS3 and vita - the speed points transfer across so you can unlock the most wanted races quickly

Will Dragon Dogma's Quest ever come here? I noticed the trophies are in English.

More detailed impressions later but the Slims LCD screen is absolutely nothing to worry about.
It's an IPS screen right? Because I notice no color shift when tilted like I do on cheaper LCDs and the OLED original which is great.

Sweet! Thank you for the reply/picture. Very much appreciated.

Edit: doesn't seem like I'll be able to find one of these in the US.

i hated most wanted with a fiery passion. the controls felt awful and your car was like paper. touch a wall and its over.

I recently re-installed the game. I think the biggest problem is pop-in. I don't know if it's the Vita, or just poor programming. But the environments take way to long to load while driving. I can't count how many times I slammed into objects that appeared out of nowhere.

Rivals is the better game. But the AI is too brutal. It's a good thing I figured out how to farm SP.
